Gonna post this one everywhere because I forgot who was interested and in what thread. I'm in love with the color and the machining. Good work by Primary Machine. Only flaw in the works was a mildly shaved roll pin on reinstallation that was binding the firing pin up. All it took was stripping the slide to see why the bind, and given that they didn't have a way to test for that eventuality because I sent only the field stripped slide, I'm gonna let it slide.

Any particular reason you went with irons in front of the dot?

2 reasons mainly. The big one is that the zero lockdowns are accessible from the rear, and drilling that rear sight for access costs extra. Also, the theory behind a dot is both eyes open, focus on target. Even if the dot is "on" the iron sights, the brain overlays those two images, so it doesn't greatly affect your ability to put the dot on target, whereas with the irons behind it can block me seeing the dot and the viewport is small enough as is. I was willing to give up some sight radius to get that. A lesser benefit is that they protect the lens from frontal impacts, but I'm less concerned about that, outside of the novelty I don't plan to rack the gun extensively with chairs, walls, etc.

All are good. Go to a range and see how they shoot in your buddies hands. They might be naturally better with one

Only one answer... have your friend shoot each one, and add a 1911 to the list. Then he can decide what fits and feels good. If it fits and feels good, confidence and accuracy will follow.

Won this HOWA model 1500 .308 not a bad gun for $20. Definitely not my choice on the color thinking of getting it coated black or camo i'd like to use the gun for hunting.
