Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I guess I was a solid “option 2” on this list, never hated it but certainly saw room for improvement. Now I love driving it
93 octane base tune is where I’ve landed at this point, and I couldn’t be happier with it.

 

No "Try before you buy". But if you add your location to your info maybe someone would be kind enough to take you for a ride or let you drive their truck. You'll soon see that their truck performs much more like a "normal" vehicle.. and you'll be hooked.

 

There is absolutely nothing "meh" about this tune...and about the future of what @OVTune has in store for our trucks!

 

You can buy it, try it, and sell dongle kit for about $250 (per my recollection) on here if you dont like it.

I hated my truck for sure before the tune. Now, I almost love it. Based on what Mat has said about upcoming tune versions, I’m confident that I’ll love my truck before the end of the year (improvements should be released some time this year). Even without the upcoming improvements, replacing my truck (as I was previously considering) is very unlikely.

By the way, I’m near Long Beach, CA. I’d be happy to show off the tune to anyone on the fence.

i do and find with the tsb, the truck drives fine. only issue is redline shifting confuses the truck (rare). i've ran all the ovtune variances of 1.05 and the performance tunes are too much with this setup. the base tunes i find the 87 base is better for my truck. however with the gearing and slightly taller tires, the tune gets confused sometimes. hence waiting for the gear specific tune to be released. til then i'm fine with the tsb.

 

Orders made before May 1rst will ship out (even during our update time).

1. Hows the shirt progress coming?

2. Going on a trip down south in 2 months. Was wanting to know if there was a shop I could come and tour and possibly meet the guys that saved my truck. Maybe pick up some ovtune gear.

Tune registry files came this morning right before I'm embarking on an epic camping journey pulling a little tear drop. SO STOKED

 

Emailed you that this is going to be fixed during our software update (may 1-12th). Files are fixed, and will be available in FM update.

This tune and 4.88 made me love the truck!

I'm struggling to find a definitive list of what options are available for MT....It's allowing me to select 87 Base, Performance, GearLock, and FOB, but my understanding is that GearLock is for sure only an AT option, so that makes me think Performance is as well, and FOB is the "performance version" of MT...so start with base?

 

You'll get an error if you try and DL a file that's not intended for M/T... so long as you've selected M/T first lol.

87 Base, 87FOB, 91 Base, 91 FOB, you get the idea.

EDIT: JUST REMEMBER TO HAVE THE PROPER OCTANE GAS IN THE TANK!!
