I haven’t done box jumps in a while (hip) but I usually won’t trip and fall on my face but I’ll miss the edge of the box and shred my shins. I’ve had to peel skin and hair off the side of the box too many times :puke:

Do your first set with 20 lbs in your hands. You go (down) much faster! I run out of breath so fast it's embarrassing.

5 days out! Carbs at 190%, fats 140% and proteins 80% today. As week goes on we slowly pull carbs away and then on Friday, we adjust carb amount based on how her body responded this week. Weight this am was 114.4# - so coming down quicker than we thought. I am now guessing maybe 112# stage weight - guess we will see!

I’d be counting myself as a “we” too cause I’m sure she probably isn’t always in the best mood during cuts and he gets the grunt of being hungry

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
My workouts are mostly cardio. Jogging the neighborhood, trail runs, and such. Added hills and sprint drills last year to break through a plateau. It's more of a stress relief thing to me though.

Anyway, you guys talking about carbs and food stuff, figured i'll throw out some things i learned in recent years.

I use to not pay much attention to what i ate as long as it tasted good. Not total junk food but just ate what i liked.

Then my growing family forced more thought into my meals.

Wife is sometimes diabetic. It's gestational so pregnancy related which has been a few times.
Wife also figured out she and one of my daughters has a gluten intolerance.
Son has allergy to cinnamon and dyes.

So, accommodating their diets basically has changed mine.
Discovered i feel better from it. Less of the tired old man feel in the evenings (i'm only 38) even after a long run. It was a surprise honestly because i didn't really think i was eating "badly".

Pretty much what others have said.
Real foods made from scratch with fresh ingredients as much as possible so you know what's in it.

Even tried my own sauces like marinara, bbq, etc using only a few ingredients and after some early failures, now are better than store bought sauces to me.

Discovered that sourdough bread doesn't hit the digestion the same as other breads. Less bloaty for us. Doesn't give the gluten response to wife and girl. But it has to be real sourdough, not sourdough flavored. Some places sneak that bs in there.

Some of the gluten free foods don't feel heavy. Especially noticed it with pancakes.

Confirmed that cinnamon can help lower blood sugar but my son's allergy made that get tricky. If using diabetes Rx, need to be careful about levels dropping too far.

Just sharing in case it gives someone else ideas.

Yup. That makes it a "we."

In other news, I'm officially overweight @ 190lbs. According to the WHO, that's a BMI of 25.2 and .2 overweight.:der:

Dealing with someone being moody is not the same as putting in the work to getting your body fat down to unhealthy levels for a competition LOL.

It hasn't been super horrible, but there has been those moments where I just walk away lol. That also makes her mad, but she get's over it and comes back to apologize. Ever since I added more food back into her diet she's been in a much better place... but those first weeks that was tough. She exactly where we want her now, just need to dry her out a bit for show day.

No, we didn't manipulate water or sodium at all this week as I am not a believer in that, regardless if it works - it's just far too dangerous.
