Have same noise on my 16. I tried a fix once, it came back. Dealer did a fix, it has come back. Going to dealer again next week to look at pass dash speaker noise, and to look at noise in rear access cab door. Hope it all gets fixed for good.

Every dealer has a P/N for this felt. Did the same thing working at Dodge, Jeep, and Ford as well 10 years ago. It's why if you remove a panel today vs. a car 15 years ago, there's a liberal application of felt pads around clips and contact points.

Also, this thread makes me happy I'm not the only one with this problem... rattle is loud AF when it's cold out.

I had the same issue on my Pro 18, during my tweeter upgrade I place a thin piece of adhesive felt tape between the pillar and tweeter cover. No more rattle, its been 6 months now.

And the reason you are commenting on 3rd Gen forum? This could happen to anyone's Tacoma.
I see lots of 1st Gen and 2nd Gen people making a suggestion or comment on 3rd Gen forum. I joined here around 9 months ago and I never look at the 1st or 2nd Gen forums. So why do you guys keep coming over? We do not care about what 1st or 2nd gen people think or we would of posted this problem in your threads. Please stop suggesting unless you have a 3rd Gen please. It is annoying and makes no sense to me.

I get it my friend, but when I go onto 3rd gen thread I take the reply's and use them. But if you guys are giving advice and do not own a 3rd gen, it does not make sense.
I get where you are coming from. I would see where you want to check out the 3rd gen threads because you want to buy one, other then that I do not need to read comments or suggestions from people that do not have a 3rd gen. Maybe it is just me and if that is the case, Just my 2 cents.

I'm a mechanic so I like to look at other threads just in case I know the answer or sometimes I just like to mess around. Not trying to piss people off, just thought a few of you guys would get a laugh out of me being an idiot.

Ok I understand, I never thought about this. I would be checking everything out myself if I was a mechanic. My apology to you sir, just my time of the month

Take my advice and just ignore the other gen noise lol. While there are some who actually just kid around, there are a lot more that incessantly troll. It was way worse back when the 3rd gen first came out, but occasionally some guys still get bored i guess.
For a while there the mods were handing out vacays and had to post a cease and desist.

On a related note, my '16 still has the passenger side buzz at times. It's only there when I'm loading up the engine and at certain temps. I've tried a number of things including the tweeter cover and inside the A- pillar fixes, but gave up after it kept coming back. There was this one post about something loose in the ECM bracket area up under the dash, but I haven't gone poking around in there.

Very common. Press on the right tweeter to see which side is loose. For me it was the front face. Pop off the right tweeter and lay down a layer or two of tape as a wedge under the loose side. Going on two years (winters) without having to redo yet.

I had to open a case with Toyota to get anything accomplished as far as getting the noises addressed. I had the speaker grille buzz , a behind the radio buzz and a rear access door buzz . that was after a leaf spring replacement, instrument cluster replacement and clutch pedal rebuild along with the slave cylinder and hose.
