Is it too black? Is it functionable?

Alright guys i bout some VHT Nightshade and applied two coats of it on my tail lights. Im not too sure if this is okay or not its kinda dark...
Whats your opinion on the tail lights, will i have to buy whole new covers and start the project over again??

i think it might be okay for nighttime driving but we will have to see just how bad it is during daytime driving????

 

Please excuse the dirtyness, shes never this dirty but weve had quite a bit of rain lately.

 

wow. maybe its just the pics but the 2 daytime shots look REALLY dark. pull it out of the garage and take a few in the sun. the night pic looks like they might be bright enough

 

take a couple 2-3 car lengths away at night

 

those two top pictures are at night by the garage light.
i havnt seen them in the daylight yet, i will post some pics of it in the day light tomm after i get off work. ill do the same 2-3 car links away tomm evening because ive already gotten the evil eye from my neighbors because my truck is too loud

well i guess Im going to just here and stare at them. maybe if i stare hard enough it will start to become the correct shade

 

I did the VHT and it looked that dark right after. It lightenens up...at least mine did

 

Did you put a clear coat on them?

 

can you get sued if the other driver dont see the light and rear ends you?

No. Theyre only temp until I can afford some others

 

nope no clear coat just strictly two coats of vht

 

well haha obviously pretty damn thick. i think ill have to eventually buy a whole new set of tail light covers and hopefully not be as generous with the nightshade.

have you had any trouble with them regarding cops and whatnot, or just any trouble period???

 

You should be able to, and it should come in to play with any insurance claims, were any victim of it to fight it.

Making yourself harder to see in traffic and making it harder for you to see in front of you has got to be one of the dumbest 'mods' i see on here.

 

try wet sanding it with about 1000 grad and a layer of clear
