    A few years back I use to live not far from the Atlanta Motor Speed way. Two weekends a year you just planned on staying home. Guessing the Derby eye candy is in a different class than that of NASCAR.

    not fatal but yes, about a month ago a teenage girl rolled over, was life flighted out. not sure of her current condition.
    and about a month before that we had a 20 car pile up during a blizzard. same spot as todays incident.
    wrecks around here are getting more and more frequent and more serious.

    So I had 2 different companies give me estimates for concrete here at the house. One wants a little over $3600 and the other $2910. The 2nd one comes highly recommended. The first one was hired by my neighbor a couple years ago. He did our driveway extensions and I paid my neighbor. They did decent work but took a little longer than I thought they should have and I caught a couple guys from that crew teasing our dogs but I thought I'd give them a chance. Still waiting on another guy to call. If he doesn't call by tomorrow at 1600 hrs, the job is going to the 2nd company.

    I wonder if the frequency is due to distracted drivers? Around here when I’m driving it seems everyone is doing something other than paying attention to the road.

    I didn’t know Veterans had to pay for those plates. :notsure:

    What happened with the gas prices? It seems it has gone up rather quickly...over $4 a gallon is just ridiculous. I know it always goes up in the summer but this seems a little excessive.

    It's kinda messed up with the Calif Veterans plates , it's $50 to order them then $40 yearly renewal . The plates which are sponsored by CalVets ( a state run organization to help veterans) . The money raised from these plates go to Veteran services

    Seems like gas prices always increase dramatically around this time, you know driving season. But there is no conspiracy, just normal refinery maintenance. Now, where did I leave my tin foil hat???
