Anyone have some suggestions of places to camp that are family friendly and might be available? (Bathrooms, body of water) Seems like everywhere is booked already and trying to plan a couple trips the wife will tolerate.

Supposedly you can also dispersed camp at the upper lake but haven't found anything to confirm that.

Most definitely agree. But for the most part people tend to gravitate towards the Golden Retriever lol

No that shouldn't happen. I know you just took off your CV axle to reboot so my guess it has to do with that. Keep in mind I am at the beginner level and only replaced my CV axle once. Here are my thoughts of possibilities:

    1. The seal immediately inside your diff got damaged. When pulling the CV axle out if it drags across the seal it can easily get damaged. A master mechanic warned me to keep the axle in the center when removing it to not drag across it and to be careful with my prybar.

    2. The drain plug or fill plug is loose or missing a crush gasket.

I would wipe those areas clean and park at an angle shifting the oil towards the axle you rebuilt. Then hopefully gravity will do its job and show you where the leak is. Hopefully just the drain or fill plugs.

Also .. BUMP for the more experienced to weigh in.

My first was an American. My second was a German (photo below). My third (photo below) turned out to only part rott but he looked way more like a rotty when we rescued him as a pup. Little fucker tricked us.

Okay, front diff with locker is as complicated as female anatomy if not more. Having said that....let's get back to the topic stop imagining stuff...this is not human anatomy class.

A little bit more information about the leak. I believe that there is an air leak some where inside the diff and has nothing to do with the CV axel side seals. The reason I think it is so because I found sprayed differential fluid on the top side of the diff, not on the axel side. Now imagine if you would, there is a pressurized air hose that goes around the ring and to the locker and sometimes that hose can be kinked or damaged when differential is being assembled if you are not careful. Now when you turn on the compressor and there is a leak inside the diff, it acts like a pressurized balloon and the weakest point will give out first. I am thinking in my case weakest point is the glue on the top of the axel where two half joins or near the breather section. Plus, my compressor has been coming on every minute or two when locker is engaged. I guess I will be calling the guy who assembled the front diff tomorrow.

    Daaaaammmmmnnnn you got lockers too?

Okay the air leak comment makes sense now. Curious if it has anything to do with your recent CV axle removal/boot repair or just a coincidence.
Okay well at least I bumped it. Got lost in the birthday ( happy birthday @t.hornstra) and camping messages.

    Noob out. :pout:

I'd say if compressor keeps kicking on when engaged, you got a problem creating your leak.
