Talking with @Noelie84 yesterday I think I might dig under a little in the front and put gravel under the door area for drainage. The spot it is on is land that has been cleared to gravel, so the drainage is actually very good, it is also at the top of the grade for the parking area so everything will drain away after it comes down the hill.

They ship 20 footers, I think that might be the smallest, 25 is an option I saw around as well. Lots of great shelving options that use the d-rings that come inside the shipping containers, which leaves your floors open and no need to drill/cut into it.

I think, I didn't get a quote for a smaller one though so I can't be sure. I think somewhere around 2-2.5k probably. I think shipping is a big factor so depends on how far you are from your closest container seller.

There are lots of options on containers. Do what Bridge did, and shop around. Hoping to get a minute, and call Kelco tomorrow, an 8x20 will suffice for now. Plus, I can move it later if needed, or just pack it, and ship it back to Texas when the time comes.....
Pibbles, your best bet, is to look at the nearest major ports... i.e. Boston, and Portsmouth. 2k is a reasonable starting point for decent one. You can get almost new "1 trippers" etc....

I got quotes on 1 trippers because I was just interested in seeing the difference. 5k delivered and who knows how rough that one trip was? I was going to paint it anyways, so didn't make sense to spend 2k more for nice paint I was going to cover. My container has light surface rust, but otherwise is in pretty top shape.

The 40 foot one is super long and I didn't really understand how big it was until it showed up. 20 foot would work for most residential needs I would think. I have a lot of extra crap from our business I need to stash away too, so I went for the bigger one.
