    Anyone have an issue with VSC and Pre collision lights on after lift? I’ve got a 19’ and still have the lights on.. plan on getting a proper alignment this week will they be able to recalibrate both?

    Yes. On my 2018, my VSC and Pre-collision errors didn't show up after my lift, but did show up once the alignment was done. I use Toyota techstream to clear the errors, did nothing else. A week later, the errors haven't shown up again, I think I'm good. I'm guessing in my case, while my alignment was being done and the truck was turned on/off several times, maybe a sensor was tripped which caused the errors.

    Edit: If your alignment shop can't figure it out, you might ask them to simply reset your codes, and see if that takes care of it.

    Theres also a recall out on the forward collision sensors, and the dealerships are getting whiny about lifted trucks....

    What is the general consensus on hub to fender measurement on 3rd gen. As the original post states, going above the 23” would be putting you above the desired height for 3rd gens based on the fact we are 1” higher already. I would like to be right at 23”. When all of you are reporting two inch lifts are you really 2” over stock I.e. 23” hub to fender or two inches from 2nd gen ride height numbers. When I see pictures noting 2” lifts a lot of times they only seem to be 1” and going off what companies are saying it will lift. Sure would be beneficial to have a thread where everyone has level side shots with lift brand and actual center hub to fender measurements. Especially if you are trying to achieve a certain stance and end up going through multiple installs and alignments to try and acquire it.

    The thing you need to be concerned about is CV angles. 2nd gen & 3rd gen are basically the same suspensions. Full flex is full flex.
    But your driving height should be set at a point that your CV boot fins do not rub and cut into each other. The weak link is the inner CV Boot.
    Now this will be different on every truck.
    WHY??
    Because our suspensions have different variables. Camber and Caster. Depending on how the tech sets your alignment cams it can play a role in the rate your CV boots wear.
    So 2 trucks with exactly the same lift may have different issues depending on how the tech sets the cams.
    A lot of people that manufacture and install lifts on these truck don't have a full understanding on what is required.
    If you can find a tech that has a good understanding of IFS suspensions then they can help you tweak the set up you have to work the way you want.
    The problem is that most techs don't care the invest the time to figure it all out correctly.

    Short answer is that even if you were to do exactly the same as another member. You may not get the same results.

    Sorry this isn't what you were hoping to hear. But it is the truth about our suspensions.

    Best you can do is make it the way you want and deal with the consequences should they arise. Don't sweat the little things! Drive it like you stole it! Or? leave it stock and let the dealer deal with the issues under warranty!

    Thank you for the in depth response. I will make sure to check that inner CV when done. I will try for right at 23” which would equate to a 3” 2nd gen lift. Don’t really want much more than that anyway as I don’t want to get into other issues if I can avoid it. I am still curious on what others are reporting as 2” lifts are really 1” lifts based on manufacturers not accounting for 3rd gen ride height. I wonder how many people are paying attention to their measurements. Of course if you like the way it looks who cares. I however looked at the 2” and knew this is what I wanted. Thanks again for the cv info.

    I installed 2nd gen 6112s on the top(5th)notch and 5160/HS 3 leaf AAL with overload in. I got 2.5” in front (which is exactly what the chart says to expect)and 2” in the back which puts me at 23” hub to fender all the way around. For reference the only extra weight I have is a extang solid fold tonneau and sliders.

    I have the HS 3leaf as well. I have OL out and sit 1.5 higher in the rear. I’m currently at 23.5 rear. Did u get full 2” with OL in? How is the ride with the OL in place? Thanks for your measurements. Do you have a side profile pic and tires your running?

    my understanding is that the OL leaf really doesn't do much unless it is engaged. it shouldn't change your ride quality.

    The overall ride is way better than the stock limited suspension. I did get a full 2” with overload in.

    I wonder if the OR hub to fender is higher than the Limited in the rear? stock is supposed to be 22” in rear. I also heard people saying that they had a factory shim in their packs they found upon installing there leafs. I def. did not have a factory shim in mine.

    Not sure. I measured 20.5 in front and 21 rear before lift. That was also with sliders, tonneau and I forgot I also have a Borla S-Type exhaust(not sure if that weighs more than stock). Enough for the 1” difference? Maybe. I know the stock limited suspension is hitachi but not sure if it sits lower to begin with. Also no shims here.

    Stock Sport suspension is also Hitachi but I'm guessing it's tuned very differently than the limited.
