Sadly, I find this comment humorous as I sit here in my recliner with my feet up and a drink on the side table...

Evening all. Haven't been around much, fighting the crud. Started in my sinuses, Doc prescribed strong dose of prednisone for seven days, said call back if not better. Well infection moved into my lungs, called Doc, has me on a badass dose of antibiotics twice a day. Gotta be 100% in two weeks to help Dad with the boat for croaker tournament in Tappahannock Va. Just don't get how long it takes to heal anymore. Back in my younger days, two three days tops I was good to go. Sure could use some uplifting...

Those cutters always scared the bejesus out of me. I would test them after i worked on them.
After every cut i would count my fingers to make sure i had all 9 and 7/8 of them

    What did it attempt?
Done many shear blade changes. Lock outs and extra care a must!

they are scary sharp. when the old man trained me he said your razor you shave with is like a butter knife to these. I highly respect them. some people wont run the trimmer because of them. its all about respecting them and being aware of your surroundings. i dont let anyone around when changing them.running the plastic bed knife you gap them@.002 to cut clean. thats my green .004 shim stock i set up a new one with. bump the carbide after set up and cuts clean without shaving the plastic bed knife.

newbee left his T-handle allen wrench in the track and book pushed it through trimmer and took knife out. yes he got a good dose of ass chewing about how bad you can get hurt if you dont pay anymore attention then that.iworked him over pretty good. he said mistakes happen. I said not with these knives they dont. he got the message!I changed out knife and cleaned the burr it put on the clamp.Knife change is the last thing i teach when training.

Nothing like machinery that can, will and wants to hurt you.

We had a saw in the foundry I worked at that had 4 32”dia 1/2” thick carbide tipped blades that were each spun up by their own 30hp 3phase motors, the saw would trim the flash off castings in about 14sec
