Till midnight. My rain guage only holds 6", it's prolly overflowing.

 

Was gonna make a small pecker joke... but thought "nah, dont want a 9th ban in 2 weeks"

Be sure to visit Copperopolis. That's a swinging place. Not really but it reminded me of a story...

So, I'm 15 years old and we are all going to California on a family vacation. We go to Disneyland, Universal Studios, San Diego Zoo, Hollywood, Chinese Theater walk of fame, etc. then we head north where my dad's cousins own a store in Copperopolis. We get there and it's just a dead little place surrounded by a beautiful forest. His cousin, Mae, turns out to be a full blown lunatic. Her husband was probably the reason for the birth of the sasquatch legends. They had this ancient, dirty general store/bar/pool hall that was actually thriving because...only game in town. They lived on the upper floor of the place and the filth up there was beyond belief.

Anyway, Mae tells us to be ready in the morning. They are going to close up the store and take us on a tour of San Francisco. So we leave bright and early in her VW hippie van and she's driving like a bat out of hell around narrow mountain roads and she couldn't talk to anyone in the back seats without looking at them so her eyes were never on the road. Somehow we managed to survive and get to SF. It doesn't take long to realize that she doesn't have a clue where anything is in SF except the warehouse where she picked up her goods for the store. We stop at a KFC and get a bucket of chicken and are driving along and see this hiker with backpack and guitar on his back. She flips a u-turn in the middle of the freeway, goes back and pulls up alongside him. She tells him she'll give him a piece of chicken if he'll play us a song. Poor guy was probably too embarrassed to tell her no so he did it. Right there beside this busy highway he plays and sings us John Denver's song "Sunshine On My Shoulders". We all applauded him and gave him some chicken and went on our merry adventure. We finally did find the Golden Gate Bridge and drove over it but that was the extent of our SF grand tour.

Anyway, dumb story but it made me smile to remember it.
