These things hold their value so well it’s not always that simple.

I was going to wait for the 2020 but I got a great deal on a 2019 on the last day of March. Not sure about this but Toyota may get even more aggressive with that Gladiator out. I got $3k off, $1k was dealer add ons so really $2k off but for me I thought, will I get this on a 2020 in October, so I went for it. I too had a diminishing trade in creeping too close to 100k miles..

Sure, tacoma's hold their value well, but the second you drive off the dealer's lot you just incurred a major part of the vehicle's depreciation. Buying second-hand reduces that burden.

For me personally,I'm holding out for a 2020. I wanted to get rid of all debt and work on getting my credit score up as well as save a good amount. That and being with my job for more than 6 months will help me get a better rate from my bank, which will work out perfect with the time frame a 2020 will be available. It works for me.
If all else fails and I just can't get a 2020,the 2019's will surely be discounted somewhat. It definitely wouldn't be settling as the 19's are great trucks. It really all depends on what you want vs what you need to have!

They’re great. But any vehicle is going to be valued less after 100k relatively speaking...

    ...stuff
That’s a really old mentality. Modern day cars are designed to go much farther than 100K and are built much better than cars 40+ years ago

That may be but I still don’t know anybody who grins and says “Damn! Only 100k!”

I'm hoping for something bad ass in 2021, and if not I'm going 4Runner.

Probably hard to tell since this is a new engine in 2016. I had a 2nd gen with 230k miles on it and it still ran extremely strong.

But just check autotrader for used value on Tacomas. They hold their value very well compared to other high mileage pickups.

My trade was my wife's Hyundai SUV which was getting close to 100k, if it we're a Toy truck, we would have kept it.

Its funny that they put an Off Road in the picture but say the deal is for a sport, I would imagine they have similar deals on both.

    Most likely true.

When i got my deal last month, the dealer told me so long as the MSRP is the same (or close) to advertised truck offered for the deal, they could make the numbers work.
