I had taken it in before because I had a water leak that caused the corrosion, they said they fixed it all and I found and repaired the leak. Do you think maybe they messed up a connection while dealing with the heated mirrors? They charged me $455 which was a blow but after that my seats stopped working. Is this something they'd have to recharge me? Just trying to cover my bases. Also since both stopped working but all the lights still turn on is there a tab for the seat heaters? I've looked all over but I think I'm just blind.

From what I’m reading, the seat heaters (both) stopped working immediately after other work was performed? If there was no gap between mirror work and seat failure, then there’s you’re obvious answer. If the seats worked after the previous repair, and both failed simultaneously, then I would look for a common wire connection/connector... I would think each seat has independent power source components otherwise (fuses, relays, switches).

So I know this is a late reply to this thread but I have an appointment to again next week for my seats. One of the techs was trying to unhook a harness and he snapped the connector. Toyota said the WHOLE wiring harness has to be replaced because it's their policy or something...(I mean....I'm fine with that, 0$ out of my pocket for a $1000 + harness.) Yet, it didn't fix my seats.

So next week we will see what they say.
So far they've tested all fuses, seat lights come on, I guess there's power to the amp but nothing coming out after. They've tried using a different amps and still nothing. From what I see it looks like the next step is replacing both heaters entirely.

Both seats did work for a few days after but then both stopped at the same time. They said they checked all the fuses, relays, switches, etc and still can't identify. I guess some hot shot is coming in next week to "run diagnostics" and I bet the verdict will be that the seat heaters just took a dump.
Maybe that little water corrosion took those extra days to screw up the seats..but then you'd think they'd catch any corrosion right then and there and problem solved.

I forgot to ask and didn't wanna make another thread, but since they replaced my main harness, did that erase anything like TSB's?

But in good news..somehow my mpg went up by close to 2.5mg

TSB’s are flashed into non-volatile ECU memory... so no, you won’t need to flash again. However the unit may need to relearn your driving style, as that info is stored in separate and volatile location (i.e., battery power disconnected, info lost).

Thank you, that makes me feel better. I guess I have been driving like a grandma since I got it back. No problem there, I enjoy taking my time driving and enjoying my truck.

What happened with the seat heaters? I have exactly the same problem! Dealer can’t locate and wants to pull front end all apart. Wondering if that’s even worth it, will this create something new when it’s put all back together, like rattles that aren’t there right now. Only have 3,000 miles on truck. Heaters never worked from day 1!
