How are your intake temps under boost without an IC? are you thinking about spraying meth or anything? Are you not running a bov? Could that cause the stall?

 

Good eye. Even with a ported shroud, that distance between throttle valve and MAF sensor is very short. Pressure wave reverberations would quickly impact the flow across the MAF.

 

Your stalling because your engine goes to rich.

When you suddenly let of the gas pedal and the TB closes shut, the boost in your charge pipe has to go somewhere. The back flow of charged air over your MAF (MAF measures air both directions) causes your engine to continue to fire your injectors causing you to stall.

 

Intercooler is the next step. I'm only on 5 psi for now. No meth. Only thing that I changed was the box. I got rid of the factory box and flexible blackwater pipe. Blowoff is routed into the 90° bend of the turbo inlet.

 

Watching the afrs it does go rich before stalling. I suppose my blowoff return could be effecting the MAF being that close.

More than likely, its blowing off too quickly. Can you in adjust how much it opens and vents?

What kind of NA figures are you looking at?

 

Probably not a ton over stock. Compression is lowered a bit from stock to take more boost, I'm assuming. Porting and bigger TB will give a nice boost on the high end but I'm not sure it will make a huge difference without proper cams.

 

That block wont be NA, but I want to build the engine that's coming out of the truck to be in the 300's. There are 500hp honda motors but they have aluminum rods and are pushing the limits too much. 300's seems like it will be more reliable for a DD/play thing

 

Found out that this motor is actually 8.6:1 lol so it will be a slug til it takes all my boost

 

With variable cam timing and your BW, you'll be surprised.

With my 9.0:1 engines, it was no low end slouch on a journal bearing Precision Turbo. Even more responsive with the BW. Thus why I am going back to the VVT-I cams.

It may be a little so N/A, but even once the turbo is on, pre-boost threshold, the volume of air flowing out of the turbo will still make it very responsive.

 

Holy crap that's low compression, like 80s turbo motor levels of compression.

 

I'll be able to make it work with new tech I hope lol honestly it had been at the shop for so long I forgot the parameters we agreed on lol the vvti will help me like Tor noted above so I will make it work lol
