Maine requires front license plates to be installed on all vehicles (woof) and I went to go put my plates on today and the drilled holes are quite a bit wider than the holes that are present on the license plate itself.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for mounting? I thought about maybe trying an adhesive frame but I'm not sure if the current holes that are drilled would cause the adhesive to not really stick that well.

I believe @ACEkraut has no drill front mounts.

+1 for @ACEkraut. Installed on mine and like it way better than the stock mount.

There's nothing stopping you from drilling the plate to match the existing holes! :D

I form the plate to the bumpers on all of our cars.

I am so happy Ohio is doing away with front plates, took mine off when I installed the Pro skid plate

I took off the stupid FL bracket they give you , and just flush mounted it to the bumper... way less "fat lip" look than stock.

Thanks - I'll check him out. I'm just mad I have holes in my bumper that don't even fit a license plate. Prior owner must have had some huge frame or something on there.

It was probably the Factory Mount that was on there before, it's an ugly looking box.

Maybe the prior holes were for a Japanese plate? My WRX came with holes predrilled for a Japanese plate, but I bought a mount for an American plate that would fit that hole spacing.

I would think the stock LP mount would cover up any extra holes.

Agreed. I hate front plates. I lived in KS for 5 years where they didn't require them, but just moved back to TX where they do. I hope TX does away with them too in the near future. They just merged their registration and inspection sticker into 1 sticker a couple of years back. That's progress I guess.

OP, as suggested above, I ordered no-drill brackets from ACEKraut.

Hey! Leaving work so not a lot of time to write a response but wanted to write something quick. I live in Topsham. Where are you living here in Maine? I am sure we can figure something out to help you, even if it is tailored specifically to your truck.

Hey man - that'd be awesome. I live in Windham but work in Falmouth/Yarmouth. I was actually getting ready to shoot you a message with a few questions if that's alright?

I never understood why the front plate gets all the hate. I'd understand if it's a Porsche, Ferrari or a Corvette.

I think vehicles look cleaner but I'm so used to it being from Maine I really don't mind it. I'm just mad that there are two drill holes lol

Last front plate I had was a 2nd gen ('81) Z28. Looked terrible.
Front plates suck. The nicer the ride, the bigger the detraction, and most manufacturers make little to no attempt to mitigate the suck.

They’re required here in CA too. I actually got one off another forum, he sells on eBay too just search “2016-2019 Toyota Tacoma Full Plate Front License Bracket Holder” on eBay. Think it was around $29 and uses the preexisting holes but much cleaner than the stupid bulky stock plate holder (I just need to paint the bolts black, OCD problems)28608690-475A-468C-B72C-01DBAEFBEC48.jpg3652123A-CEF3-45CA-82D0-EA86E2F8463B.jpg
