Some people ask for them if one is available. Some dealers put up a stink and resist if you (or they) can't prove that your truck needs it. I really don't care. If they apply the TSB for the ECU, I'll just re-flash the OVTune for the new ECU.

I didn't want to mess with mine either (this is my first new paid for truck), seems some trucks suck more than others, I was so unhappy with mine I was going to trade it in and lose multiple thousands of dollars, so I thought before i did that i would risk it and try this tune, and delightfully the tune saved me, i love my truck finally. If you are happy with the way your truck drives, carry on and enjoy, no need for the tune!

I completely understand your decision. I did not take your post as anything like that. I just want people to be aware, these situations are extremely rare, and was blown way out of proportion.

If you want something done other than the 5/10/15k service, let them know ahead of time. There are different techs that do the oil changes and tire rotations vs. actual problem diagnosis. I mentioned the stumble/hesitation problem when I went in for my 10k, which meant it had to be assigned to a real tech, which they hadn't expected and planned for.

You'd make a good replacement for the current president. Place the blame on everything but PEBCAK.

A good friend of mine has a 2019 Tacoma and I'm sure yours is the same as his. And his is just like my 2018.
The truck shift from 1st gear all the way to 6th gear before I can get to 40 mph. and then starts shifting back down to get some RPMs. I'm sure yours does the same. You dealer may be able to update your ECU to help eliminate some of that. I had an ECU update done on my truck and it helped with shifting a lot.
The OVTune helped a lot more.
I know your not happy with the way your truck shift. BTW - I am being very friendly and respectful to you. Please don't take my comments the wrong way. :)

Hey guys.. Haven't been active in a while and I checked the first post and noticed that Mat said there was going to be a shutter fix for auto transmissions on april 14th. I assumed it would just replace the existing tunes and won't be renamed. I also noticed on another thread someone said it was coming soon. Just wanted to double check with anyone who knows.. has this been released yet? I apologize if this has been recently stated .. I haven't had time to read through like 300 posts since the last time I check the forums. I'm 2019 04b30 by the way.

    Hi All,

Pulled the trigger this week for mine.
Sorry for my bad English, i'm a poor French speaking Canadian. (lol)

Just one thing i didn't understood is the fuel octane.
Is this able to re-adjust to higher octane (or lower) or i have to re-flash if i change my habits ?

    Thanks to all

    Welcome eh!
As of now, you have to flash the appropriate octane tune for the octane of fuel you are running. In the future there is supposed to be an update that will adjust automatically, just not yet.

That said, you just need to be sure to run the octane equal to or higher than the octane tune you choose.

Thanks for the very fast answer. I also see in the video of setup the "octane" drop down menu.
Can't wait to test this beast of a tune. (looking at it for more than a year)
