What to clean the factory alloy wheel with

I have a 2006 perunner. It has the factory alloy wheels on it. They seem to be polished or something from the factory. What should I use to clean and get them shining? Thanks.

 

Wash and wax
There's polishes out there also but a good hand washing and waxing should make em look great!

 

Can you post a picture of them? Are they clearcoated or bare aluminum?

 

Get some Super Clean by castrol (purple jug) at Walmart. Mix it 1 part degreaser to 4 parts water. Spray on whole tire. Use fender brush on tires and a boar's hair brush to scrub the wheels. Follow up with a cheap microfiber towel in all the tight areas. Dry off rim. Apple wax. Buff to a shine and dress your tires. if you want to get funky, spray some dressing on a rag and wipe the inside of your wheel well to make the look brand new.

 

They are most likely clearcoated, so be careful.

I use the same soap (baby shampoo) to clean my wheels as I do my paint. Use a good stiff brush and warm water to help get the grime off.

What would be the best way to clean some stock rims like these without buying special cleaning products:

 

Those are the same wheels I have. I haven't used anything but baby shampoo on mine in years, but you will probably need something more aggressive to get started.

Use warm water and dish soap. Using a fairly stiff wheel brush will be extremely helpful.

Scrub them over and over until they're clean and then wax them. They are clearcoated, so I don't recommend using anything abrasive.

 

This is the same stuff I use, the Castrol Super Clean is a great product, I've been using it on alloy wheels for at least 6-7 years and it does nothing to harm the finish. The wheels on my wife's 05 Honda Accord still look like brand new, and I wash them this same exact way as described, every Saturday (rain or shine)!
