Well.
Got rid of a couple of my repair list.

One 180,000 mile tundra.
Abs self activation.
Wiring was cut and spliced in system.
Had to probe and ohm 40 friggin wires.
Flow chart said abs actuator to the cost of $2000.
Road tested with my computer and saw right rear speed signal dropping out.
Wiring good. Another place replaced sensor.
Yea not actuator.
Replaced the friggin pita rr axle bearing. These things suck.


Abs system is fixed. Lots of diag, lots of bearing labor. But one part to fix.
Can you see the problem?

Another dr told me grease is actually clean. When I almost lost my finger it was Full of grease and said the grease protected it from infection until it was stitched up.

My preference too but slim pickings in 16".

 

Housing cracks are the result of me cutting the outer retainer off the axle.
This whole piece seen is replaced

I'm not seeing what would cause wss signal to drop.

 

The ring inside the housing is the tone wheel for the abs system.
It has a specific number of slits in it. As the wheel turns the sensor picks up these slits in specific time. Like the beat of a drum.
The top part of the tone wheel has a piece missing. So the computer thinks the wheel has slowed down,aka slipping, so it starts to pulse that brake to equal the braking.

 

An, I didn't realize the tone wheel was on the bearing. Does it have active sensors or the older, inductive style?

 

Tone wheel changes the magnetic field in the sensor creating a pulse the ecu reads.
So I guess it’s still a inductive sensor

 

Oh yea.
Lint free towels for sanitation.
Zip ties for holding all the slimy , gooey parts together

 

Bad choice of words. Should have said passive. I've been out of it so long. Never dealt with the wheel and brake hardware much. We simulated our wss signals with generator cards we built for ECU testing. I think those are active sensors. Makes sense. Active are a hall-effect type sensor and the magnets are physical on the tone wheel. I just didn't know they had Incorporated them in the bearing.

 

They have them in the bearings, alone on an axle, cv joint ends.
