I plan on keeping my 06 Taco for quite a few more years. It's just the ticket for my hunting trips up to cabin and for hauling the dog in. If they offered a Hilux inspired diesel 4x4 on a Tacoma though, I might bite and go for it.

With all my added character, I kinda doubt I'd be able to find a buyer if I felt like selling it at a reasonable price. Guess I'll just have to make it a full blown trail rig :)

i like my tacoma a lot, its great for what it is, but i wish it was more truck like. i haul motorcycles a lot and it would be nice to have something with a bigger bed or that could tow a trailer more comfortably. so if i was going to buy a truck today, i think i would have to go with a tundra.

I'm not as impressed as I thought I would be with it. I couldn't buy leather seats, cold weather package, etc. I have every option but the roof rack to my knowledge.

JBL stereo only has bass and treble. Subwoofer sucks. Like the bluetooth.

TRD off road suspension just sucks ass, my god it's awful. Put a weekend's gear in at and two dogs and it sags pretty bad. My wife does pack to much, for the record. Like the locker, a lot, very nice to have item.

But it's still a Toyota and I've had two before and they just ran, and ran, and ran. Looking forward to that and hope this truck lives up to the reputation. I'll modify it a little starting with an OME lift and tires. Maybe an ARB bumper and something more than the flimsy rear bumper.

I like that there is ton of bolt on protection for it. Don't have much of that for my CJ, I have to build it. Having the CJ, this truck will remain the family weekend warrior rig. No hardcore wheeling, but it's gotta drive better with a load in it and thats why I'm going with an OME after these crappy stock tires wear out. I'll replace them with some BFG T/A's or similar. No need for mudders on the daily. Listen to enough Swamper on the jeep.

I voted forever (duh) but IF they actually build that elusive V8 Tacoma I do believe Rosie's going to need help pulling me away from the dealership:D
IMO the Tacoma needs a V8 option. By the way have you guys seen the shrunken 4runner? Only a 4 or 6 banger option now???

Good call. It's easier to fix and maintain when you already know the gremlins of your rig. No reason to start over.

Since I had to compromise with this truck because of certain factors in my life, it is not the truck of my dreams. :( When I no longer need a truck that is lower to the ground and have the freedom and time to have some fun, I will definitely trade this truck in for a 4x4. ;)

In the meantime, I own it and it is a great truck for what I need now.

My plan is to drive this Tacoma 'till my oldest gets to driving age, then she will drive it. At that point, I will get a new Tacoma, then my second girl will get it that one when she is of age. After the girls are taken care of, then I will get my 4-door TRD long bed. I come from a long line of Toyota owners and I want my girls to have reliability and something fun to drive.

I will trade mine in some day for a new Taco, but it will be a long time from now, cause even when I pay it off, that money that I would pay for payments on it will be going to some more mods to my truck. ;)

Most likely gonna keep the truck till its close to gettin paid off then trade it in or sell it. Depending on the economy and where I live at the time I will most likely get a car...either Nissan or Infiniti. If I'm going to get a different truck it will probably be a Nissan Titan Pro-4X....or a Ford Raptor. :anonymous:
