After using and selling tons of car-wash/cleaning products in my auto parts stores over the years I've found that you can't go wrong with Maguire's products.

Murphy's oil soap and water, spray it on and use a round soft sash brush. Leaves wheels shinny when done, also good at cleaning tires too.

I use the meguiars? wheel cleaner, its a pink spray in a clear bottle.. stuff just sprays on, and let it sit for a few minutes (you can watch the brake dust just drip off the wheels/brakes).. wipe, or rinse off with water. then i pull out the wheel polish, or wax. I just get the visible surafces.. when i do a tire rotation, or brake service i will clean and wash/WAX the backsides of the rim. just be careful not to wash off your sticky weights if you use them.. the ones I use are VERY sorgiving, but the foam tape they use doesnt like strong acids, or solvents.

The wheels are painted. Clean them the same way you clean the body of the truck. For best results, wax them periodically. A slick surface will repel more dirt, brake dust, etc.. Don’t use dish soap or chemicals as they will strip the wax.

for polish, I just use the lowest cut polish I can find.. https://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-Mir...ocphy=9002578&hvtargid=pla-435650544403&psc=1
I do a light polish with just a cotton cloth, wipe it all off with a clean cloth, and then wash with soapy water, possibly bclay bar them if there is time. let dry, then do 1-3 coats of wax by hand.. if you have a drill and one of thos polish balls, or cones, it makes it much easier to apply the wax.

I wash like normal, then polish with chemical guys ex creme, then wax with meguiars ultimate. It really keeps the dust off them. The tires are super dusty, but nothing stuck to my wheels.

I've never diluted my Simple Green. Is there some magic to it over using the stuff straight from the jug?

I would not use it again or recommend it. After doing my stock sport wheels- the over spray (between “spokes”) ruined the coating on the calipers. They are streaky and dull now

I've used the Meguires for over 2 years on my C7 wheels and Tacoma Sport wheels for almost a year and as you can see, they look great. Keep in mind that any good wheel cleaner needs to be wiped/rinsed off you can't leave it to dry on surfaces.
