Jeez. I check this thread multiple times a day (sometimes working in a parts department is boring... Airbags and Oil Filters all day long)... And somehow I missed this drama. :canada::sorry:

Our trucks with the tune get the same mpgs as if we were bone stock with stock tires (if not better).

    I’m pleased

for you guys changing to 91/93 base, how is the tip-in compared
to the perf. tunes of the same octane?

I've got less than a quarter tank on 93 Performance but so far tip in is a lot less aggressive compared to 83 Performance. It's about right for me with ECT on. Also much easier to sip my coffee in stop n go traffic. :D

lol these trucks are so friggin strange! on 93 perf the tip-in was crazy, could not even drive in traffic but
87 perf+ect that I've been on for many tankfuls, the tip-in in hardly there but I definite feel the power loss.

Nothing new was added to flash manager was it? It's been a good month since I had 93 perf on there.

    I believe there's been updates for P5Flash (non-dongle) users.

91 base here, tip in is perfect. 91 perf tip in was pretty herky jerky to me. (Stock Limited) . I learned to leave a stop ok but the rolling back on and off after slowing at a low speed I couldn't get smooth.

Not sure I understand this equation, but I had a new frontier as a loaner while my Subaru was getting a service and I thought the Frontier drove like crap. Felt like a boat and had mad steering vibes when accelerating. I would buy a Dodge diesel before a Nissan Frontier and that’s saying something

I don’t know. Between those who refuse to/can’t read and the sycophant suck-ups, this thread is always good for a chuckle.

I was flashing from A61 1.05 91 octane base back to stock and the flash failed. I attempted to read DTC and clear DTC, updated and reinstalled all the software on my Surface Pro. The flash failed a few more times but finally after a few attempts it successfully flashed the 87 base tune. What would cause a failure while flashing a tune? Also what is the proper procedure to follow if a failure does occur while flashing a tune?

Make sure you cycle power on the truck before flashing if it fails.

So turn the truck off and then turn it back on to accessory mode? I didn’t want to try that since p5flash says “to avoid permanent damage to the ECU do not turn power off on the vehicle”. The post above says see page 1, but unless I’m missing it, I don’t see anything about what to do when a flash fails.

Just completed a 4-hr each way trek through Millsboro VA and back so there were certainly some good mountain side a switchbacks for 25% of the run. Avg approx 21 MPG with 245/65R16s stockers and 93Perf tune. Looking fwd to the future tune tweaks but my rig is getting great mileage now.
