My dads been in the hospital for two weeks+ with gallbladder complications that have lead to pancreas, bowel, infection, and liver problems.

Im tired, but to sum it up for now, hes had 5 surgeries to try and fix damage caused by a very inflamed gallbladder. The ducts are leaking, one attempt to repair constricted a blood vessel and has compromised his liver. The other 4 surgeries have not been able to stop fhe leaking bile duct. He has had about 4000ML of bile removed via 4 separate vacuum/pumps attached to him. The bile has slowed his intestines to a halt, he cant eat, he hasnt had food in over two weeks. The bile is doing alot of damage and his pain hasnt been touched by the meds. Percocet, morphine, dillauded have been tried. He may have contracted pneumonia from not being able to breath well as his 02 saturation is poor and he cant walk to combat the pneumonia. He cant even stand hes so weak.
Hes been thru a ton of pain..... Hes been hallucinating from the pain and meds for most of this battle. We really dont know how its gunna end but we fear it wont be good.

If u could keep him/us in your thoughts, it would mean a lot.

I'm sorry you're going through this, it's hard to stay strong for so long.

I was tested last year and I'm not ready to go through it again for a long time.

Do your best and know that you're a great son taking care of him when he needs it.

    Sadly yes.
The procedure to repair a leaky bile duct on on the 5th as i posted earlier didnt work and just last night i was told why.

When the gallbladder was removed, a clip (think suture) was placed in wrong spot cutting off a blood vessel and the duct that was supposed to go to the intestines to let the bile digest food was already severed when these docs got in there. Prior surgery mistake somehow cut it.
So he has what they have said "a 10inch wall of bile" free floating in his belly. This has caused his extreme pain, i i assume the bile is eating his internal organs alive... Thats what bile does.

So the surgeons will try to rebuild the ducts and reroute them properly.

I dont know the extent of the damage done to his organs already tho. We dont know how its going to end, if he will live through this nightmare, if he will live but have a terrible quality of life, and if he can accept thst quality of life.

This has been extremely hard on us, but i cant imagine the pain he must be feeling. Hes a lightweight when it comes to meds, and they have tried everything for two weeks and its just not helped the man.

    Its horrible beyond words.

    thank you sir

Hes back at a local hospital.
Still hasnt eaten, no desire to.
His gross and fine motor skills are terrible.
    No muscle tone
    Fevers
    Labored breathing
    Agonizing pain
The struggle to breath and the pain of breathing leaves him too tired to be ambulatory
    Hallucinating all day and night
Mumbles through his short moments of sleep

It is what it is now..... Its just a matter of time before i see them moving to hospice.
