so, we have several lego master builders at work whose sole job it is to build stuff out of legos. many of the things they build go right into the game that we are working on. i asked the guy who is in charge of the lego team and he said that it was ok if i took pictures of the lego models at work and post them online.

some of you may have seen the ferris wheel and the dungeon scene that i built out of legos, but the creations that these master builders make put my work to shame.

so... here is the desk of one of the master builders....

he made.. get this... a 5 foot replica of the death star trench scene from star wars.

look at the detail that this guy put into the model
    [IMG]

x-wing and tie fighters in scale
    [IMG]

end of the trench at the exhaust port
    [IMG]

he said that this only took him 2 weeks to build
    [IMG]

so here is a video of moving down the trench
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3ncZx3YaZg

this guy also builds space ships from scratch. these are NOT kits !!

    another ship
    [IMG]

he got onto a star trek kick and built alot the federation ships. this is from a scene in the one of the shows where the enterprise docks in the repair bay.

all the star trek ships are in scale.... remember, these are not kits. he just made this stuff up.

well... this is a kit of the death star, but its fricken cool.

this is a kit too, but you can also see his desk and the stuff that he is tinkering with.

i think this is the weapon that was fired from the planet hoth in empire strikes back. amazing detail (NOT a kit).

he also started to build some mechs and made a scene with them.

    supply truck and mech
    [IMG]

millenium falcon. obviously a kit, but still cool. its in a bit of disarray, however.

another master builder is getting into dragons and stuff. i think its awesome work.

another builder is on a weapon kick. he has made daggers, switch blades, flails, and this sword thats about 3 feet long:

another one of the master builders is making a house, but also making a construction site to along with the building of the house. he has been making this off and on for a couple of months now.

the roof ready to go on
    [IMG]

he made a crane to make it look like the mini figs were building the house.

    framing
    [IMG]

he made round columns out of square legos

i am surrounded with this kind of talent every day and it really inspires me. i love my job :)
