    My shit is all stock.
    Surely, if one spent enough money; they could make just about any engine make a bunch of power. Getting in to forged bottom end bits is far beyond what I’d say 95% of guys are seriously going to even consider.

    I’ll go ahead and take the liberty of saying that just about all of the guys active in these threads would be happy with a dependable daily truck that makes 400hp. This motor, as delivered from Toyota, can certainly handle that.

    We have most of the recipe already. A tablespoon of Injectors, a pinch of pulley, a smidgeon of tensioner, a couple more tablespoons of headers/exhaust, and a big ole heaping cup of TUNING! Mix well and then add in the blower. Cook at 170° to taste. Season with air intakes and cooling system enhancements.

    I called LC engineering twice this time, last year discussing a engine built and what specifications and prices etc. Then they never called me back. :boink:

    Thats what he said, then they said they would consider it. Then they called back and we talked for 30 mins. Then nothing.

    So since they are out I wonder who would be the next logical choice

    Healthy discussion only. Agreed different strokes for different folks, but we are all in the same proverbial 4,500 pound boat together. You’re right, It’s all bench racing right now anyways. It’s a big investment to start experimenting!

    Molnar Rods are the market cheapest. I helped them get those going. Next are the Brian Crower Rods. There are also Pauter Rods, and CP Carrillo rods - as the most expensive.

    LCE in AZ can build an engine with whatever you want. Even a place more local.

    Sleeves are not necessary unless pushing past upper 500 whp and higher RPMs. As a rule of thumb, due to cylinder wobble and cylinder pressures.

    Rods, pistons, head studs and head gaskets are the basics and will handle more than the TRD will ever give it, as well as making it extremely reliable. You can also then raise the rev limiter without worry, to 6200.

    More than 6200, you want valve springs and retainers. Possibly even upgraded valves or larger valves. SuperTech valves are more affordable than Ferria valves, but are oversized, unless you want "custom" which is where OEM spec falls.

    I had LCE build an engine with CP pistons, Pauter Rods, head studs, head gaskets, dual valve springs and retainers for ~$5k. Including labor.

    Stroker crank and sleeves came in later builds. As well as cams and oversized valves. That obviously made the build price increase.

    Rods, pistons, plasti-gauge, head studs, you're looking at around ~$2500 depending on parts.

    They just recently finished assembly of their first fully built 2TR, that they also used for prototyping, and delivered it to @MrCrowntown.

    Factory crank has been proven to handle ~600's whp.

    OEM pistons have very weak ring lands. Best buds are the anemic rods.

    John in tech. They just don't like shelling out tons of information, and investing tons of time, only for someone to take that information elsewhere. Which is understandable. They have built quite a few 1GR's. Three that I personally know of.

    I feel like we're talking about two different LCE's, even though I know we're not. A couple of phone calls to them, they talked internally and turned me away. Not sure why our experiences are so different.

    @Torspd what do u think the limits of your motor are. How much boost? How much hp? And how many rpms?
