Coming home today from the Mojave Desert, fun times

Good OLB Trip with local guys, saw a tortoise and the ZR2 had a sidewalk cut that we did a trail repair on that worked, and last night got service at 17 mile camp and watched the Sharks win while I did dishes:)

That’s a good way to look at it! I was told my rear shocks need replacing; I would like to get a 2-3” lift so I may as well knock that out instead of buying shocks twice. Other plans include: relocating the rear diff breather, installing a short shifter for the manual ‘box, installing an underhood light (and maybe an onboard compressor, and at some point, some rock sliders and/or underbody armor.

Much like food though, my eyes are bigger than my wallet! :spending:

Well not sure when your looking to do rear shocks, but @CalTacoma09 will probably have a set of rear fox shocks available as soon as he gets his shock relocate done

Underhood lighting is easy and can be done for under 50 bucks. I've done it, and would be happy to help you.

Rear diff breather (and do the front as well) can be done for around the same. I can get you the part numbers for the nipples to replace your breathers with, then it's just a few hose clamps and some 3/8 gas line... can be done in around an hour depending on where you want to re-rout to.

2-3 inch lift is about 1/2 day. Lots of options. When you figure out what lift, buy it, don't worry about install... we got you

Thank you, man! I am seriously lacking some mechanical ability, but I’m trying to learn! I’ll take y’all up on that! I picked up breather parts at Home Depot/Amazon today, so underhood is next on the list! Wish me luck!

We'll have your mechanical abilities in shape in no time. The more you know about your truck, the better, more capible, you are on the trail using your truck.

@Sharkfrog will tell you he didn't think he had mechanical abilities when he met us... now he's helped lift a half dozen trucks, installed his own sliders, skids, and done a host of other things on his truck and others.

Who's up for a day trip next weekend? I need to get the fuck out of the Valley.

    Hollister Hills
    Somewhere on the Coast
Up 108 (if anything is open)
Up 120 (if anything is open)

I'm open for suggestions... but I want to get the truck dirty!

Took my bone stock, shock-and-leaf-needin’ Tacoma, whom I have dubbed Shasta, up to Knoxville today to fart around and learn the ropes. The truck performed like a champ, and while I only spent two or so hours up there, it was such a blast!

Absolutely. I also like to indulge my hippie side and shop locally, so since BAMF is outof Benicia I am eyeing them for some of my upgrade plans! Thanks for the recommend!

Were just fortunate to not have to pay shipping fees and do local pickup! Armor shipping is not cheap.
