hello guys, question on fender flares:
would the OEM 2000-2004 fender flares fit my 99 sr5 tacoma? they seem a bit bigger than the OEM for a 99 let me know thanks.

FYI the 01-04 flares are bigger/wider than the 98-00 flares. The 98-00 flares are like the size flares that come on S-Runners & Stepsides. Not for sure but as far as fitment I think thay are all the same except for the rear stepside flares.

Also the stock 01-04 flares from Prerunners & 4WD are mainly held on with clips. The holes for the clips on the body are square so simply drilling holes to install these clips is not possible. Plus the clips are pretty expensive. Not sure how the stock flares for 98-00 & S-runners are attached.

To install the stock looking flares on a Tacoma that did not come with flares, what you want to look for are the TRD flares, these bolt on by drilling holes. Or get some Bushwacker flares, the street style or OE style flares look like the stock ones, they're probably cheaper than the TRD flares too.

Personally, I'd look at some aftermarket flares. Junglefenderflares.com or bushwacker.com It'll end up costing a bit less than factory new, unless you found someone selling used for pretty cheap.

YES, They "WILL" fit with NO issues. I had my 2000 factory flares on my 2003. The older ones are smaller like said above, but they do bolt right on and fit perfect....;)

So what kind of 2003 Tacoma did you have? Was it Prerunner or 4WD? Stepside? We know for a fact that the 2000 factory flares are too small to cover the "square" holes on our Prerunner and 4WDs. The Stepside flares look more like the 2000 TRD flares.

How about the larger Bushwacker "Cut-Out" flares?

Thanks for the info. Wasn't interested in them myself, just wondering. Is it just those flares specifically? I thought all the stock flares were the same from single, extra, & double cabs?

on our Dcab's, theres not enough room for the (cut-out-style) fender from bushwacker to fit. (it would hit the rear door). that style fender is for the ext cabs and reg cabs only
