How to make first gen brakes even better?

    Spacers, list, deck plate mod, tundra brake upgrade
    hi, just bought an ‘01 prerunner. Previous owner did the tundra brake upgrades and the truck still feels like I could do with snappier braking. Anything else I can do to upgrade the brakes on this thing? Previous owner mentioned I should look into upgrading the master cylinder?

    It’s got those metal front bumpers and some skid plates and 35 inch tires. So I know it’s not gonna brake like a Ferrari but I was wondering if y’all can help me think of ways based on what you did to make this truck brake a lot faster

    Thanks for the quick reply. Do you think these upgrades will help it stop on a dime? Cuz that’s what I’m hoping to get. Also what can I expect to pay for an upgrade to steel lines and new pads? Gonna have someone else do it haha

    I didn't go with the Tundra upgrade,
    But with the stock setup I did these 3 things and there was a huge difference.
    My truck stops on a dime but its not a heavy truck

    Stainless steel lines front and rear from LC 125 or so
    EBC pads green stuff 7000 125.00
    Drilled slotted high carbon rotors 150.00

    Dont know about installing prices

    I don’t know anything about those pads,
    As long as rotors are high carbon that’s good

    You looking for more assist? Can you lock up the brakes/abs? If so, ...
    If you are towing heavier loads then the Tundra larger rotors gives more thermal mass, less fade.

    I’m not sure. I just bought the truck and I don’t know, although the previous owner says he could lock it up when he brakes so I guess that’s a yes? Looking to see if I can add even more stopping power though. Doing the SS brake lines but any other ideas would be awesome.
