Don't like your choice of mods being pointed back at you as 'shortcomings'?

Maybe I should have put a 'haha' on the end to make it all better. haha.

BTW, truck is in the drive. It's awesome for me, as it does everything I need it to (and more) and it's paid for.

I chose to spend my discretionary automotive funds in drag racing and SCCA instead of a truck. To each their own.

You drive a girl truck with an inline 4 and you say lots of stuff. I may insist that you say "little people"

Aw hell, what am I, the PC police?

    Say what ya want.

While I'm way off topic, let me ask a couple questions: Is there a little person following this thread? Are we still saying "little person" ? Have you dropped or lifted your ride?

Wait, this is totally on topic

I like the one who drops it. I'm the practical sort

Nothing now. GTOs in days of yore.

Mine wasn't particularly fast, but it was fun. I shoed a 400 Firebird and a streetable '69 Judge as well. Also crewed on an NHRA E/S ET record holder for a good while.

Best way to drag race nowadays and be budget friendly is bracket racing. You can use a low cost ride that doesn't break stuff very much. As long as you can cut a good tree and the vehicle will consistently run the ragged edge of your dial in, you can go very deep in the ladder.

Low HP, high grip, automatic (for consistency) will embarrass a lot of high dollar poorly driven rides.

Wanna stay Toyota? A Camry or Corolla will work. No need to dredge up a Supra or MR2. Well, an MR2 can kick butt in autocross.

I've been noodling getting something like an old Falcon for some bracket racing fun. Disc brake conversions are easy peasy, parts are cheap, HP is low and the auto trans are plenty strong for the application. And double your fun with local cruise nights.

I've seen a couple of those do fine at autox. A couple of suspension tweaks and some grippy tires............. Would serve dual purpose as the auto would be easy to bracket race IF you can get good grip but launch w/o traction control on. And a comfy street ride as well.

A driving school is a great investment too. You'll learn some nuisances much faster than on your own.

    I have two theories...

    1) The short people have more money to lift their trucks.

    2) maybe they need the extra height to accommodate for the monster schlongs!!!

    Hahahahaha!!!

I think it’s just coincidence but who the hell knows! Good observation though!
