It is good. I thought I'd made a mistake paying $75 for a bottle when I 1st bought it. But after a couple of weeks it really opens up.

I like it, when you're not in the mood for heavy peat it's a nice scotch. Blends well for a scotch & soda or a rusty nail. Reminds me of Famous Grouse or Speyburn in terms of the flavor.

It's not bad for a cheap scotch. Pretty smooth, but not as smooth as I'd have expected from a 12YO sherry-aged scotch. I just finished my first bottle up, but haven't gotten around to picking up another yet. I need to make some room in the cabinet first, lol.

Edit- I'll try to remember to violate my 'no internet on the weekends' rule tonight when I get home and snap a photo to show how out of control the liquor cabinet has gotten lately...

For the money, you can’t beat Jameson.

I also like Oban scotch a lot if I want to drink something nicer.

Picked this up yesterday, I like it. Little punch in the end.
Guess it's supposed to be in between Knob Creek Single Barrel and Bookers? I haven't opened my Bookers yet.

My wife is from the South and grew up with horses, so I HAD to watch the derby. I HAD to make a mint julep for the derby, so I HAD to buy some Woodford Reserve. I'd never bought it before. Rough afternoon. I had some of the Double Oaked last night at dinner, and it was pretty good!

The mint julep was pretty refreshing whilst firing up the Traeger.

Found some 1 litre bottles of monkey shoulder in Mexico. Should've bought more. Only thing that was worth it. $25 each.

I don't think it's even been a year since I started on the Bourbon band wagon. I saw Monkey Shoulder mentioned as a good, fair priced Scotch, so I bought a bottle.

I drink my bourbon with one big ice cube, no water. I tried Monkey Shoulder the same way, and just didn't enjoy it. To me it was a young alcohol with no real flavor. Could have been Crown to me, and in fact I let guests mix it with Coke so that I didn't have to dig into any Bourbon.

How do Scotch people drink it? Neat, Rocks, dash of water?

I haven't tried anything peated yet, but feel that if it's more flavorful, I might like it more.

And just for more info, I am loving this bottle of Baker's, and regularly go to Old Grand Dad 114. So, I guess a little on the rye side, and 100 or higher proof.

    Any recommendations on a Scotch?

Is this defiling a decent whiskey or am I in the clear? Should I be drawn and quartered, or just put in shackles for a week? I mixed Buffalo Trace with Coke.:crapstorm:15571114252035026509524332436988.jpg

It's not expensive enough for draw and quartering, but maybe chemical castration. Lol:burp:
