For those who have an aftermarket alarm and/or remote start, what kind is it and what makes it the best in your opinion? Also, if you had it installed, how much was the install? I'm living out in Guam and prices are ridiculous, but I want to make sure I'm not getting too screwed if I get one installed here.

3" lift using Fox Shocks Coilover, Total Chaos UCA's. Running: Duratrac 285/70/17 Rear suspension just a 1" block for now. Will have custom rear springs no block. Fox w/ Resi.
I would recommend Viper, they have a couple which have an app for the Iphone/itouch so you can disable start your truck with your phone... always thought that would be a cool toy to show off your friends. :) It has other features as well, but when I get to checking around I am going to see about this one.

What's a fair price to get a viper 5901 installed in a 5 lug regular cab?

CompuStar is what I have. The brains are great and have a slot for the bypass to slide into making a lot cleaner of an install.

I would like to know the price to install also. I've seen the kit for as low as $210 at buy.com, I just think the amount to install would be the killer.

Had a compustar starter installed when i bought the truck
really no need for a alarm with the chipped key
The starter is outstanding and has worked from some amazing distances.
love sitting at my work desk and start it just before leaving to get the truck cool
start it about 5mins before leaving in the winter.
