Anyone else has coilover clunk?

I just installed some Fox c/o yesterday and decided to go for a quick wheel today, As soon as I got into some rough stuff the front end started clunking kinda loud, It happends when the suspension rebounds I think? anyone else have this happen? or how to end it cuz it doesnt sound to healthy.

 

when mine clunked that meant my coilovers topped out

 

Can I fix that?

Their set at 2'', is that to high?

no it shouldnt be at all. thats weird that at 2" you got a clunk. are all your steering components tight? maybe your sway bar is hitting the coilovers, have you checked that clearance?

You said when the suspension rebounds you think. Does it happen over bumps, when your turning anything that you do that brings out the clunk?

 

Bumps, rocks, speed bumps, whoops, neighbors trash can, you know the usual stuff

 

ok so safe to say all the time. did you when installing, disconnect the uca or lca ever?

 

There's your problem. Trash can lid is stuck somewhere.

 

Did you install the CO's as a kit or did you put them together i.e; spring compressor R&R coils etc. ?
Reason I ask (& I'm not familiar with Fox shox applications) in one of your pics it looks like the coil spring isn't seated correctly or is this the way Fox coil seats are ? just curious, but if everything is together right bushings where they're supposed to be, everything torqued it does sound like your topping out how about your alignment ? You did an increase in lift right ?.....

 

what about binding with the stock uca?

 

Good point, what condition are your other susp. & steering components in ? ball joints,tie rod ends etc;

& not sure what the height gain Fox says I'm assuming 3" ? if so 2" should in no way cause this..

 

Bought them as a kit all put together and all, but i havent gotten around to the alignment yet , could that be it? And yes everything is torqued right.

I'm thinking maybe its doing it, ya need to align it everytime you raise /lower it seems (should always have it checked anyway even if it feels right after a lift)....

 

Yah Im gonna get it aligned I just didnt have the time or the $$$$$ to do it today

 

Any other ideas besides alignment?...anyone?
