I'm attempting the switch to clipless today after work. Couldn't get my damn pedals off yesterday after I lost my pedal wrench and tried with a multitool.

So if anyone is in SLC and wants to watch me fall over a shitload of times, come on over!

Same down here near DC. I’ve been riding road the past few weeks. I at least got a few weeks to enjoy warm dry weather before the rain came around.
You should record for us less fortunate ones.

But really I’m sure you’ll be fine. What pedals are you gonna be running?

Half Enchilada was tasty this weekend! Also, having a member of your group that is the local beer distributor really improves morale. #somanybeers

It's not a matter of "if" so much as "when" ... just try to aim for "soft" ground.

I'm going over to the park by my place with lot of soft grass. Has this big grassy bank so its only a 45* fall rather than a full 90*

@Micro Machine and I picked up a pair of GT Aggressor Pros at Dick's for a hell of a deal over the weekend. I used to ride ~12 years ago, and I'm hoping to get back into shape/onto trails. This is my first bike with disc brakes and the longest travel fork I've ever owned, so despite being a cheap intro bike I'm in hog heaven with the gear. Bikes have come a long way.

Those will be fine. Judging by how much you post about riding I’m guessing you can trackstand haha. Just remember to kick your heels out

FYI, the cleat float, like how much wiggle your foot has while clipped in, is adjustable on crank Bros pedals by swapping cleats left to right. Also, you'll be fine being able to get out! I ran crank Bros pretty much since the OG eggbeater came out and have never not been able to Get out of them. Even OTB they magically let me out.

My record is like 4 minutes. But some days, I'm lucky to get 10 seconds.

I am using a set of "easy out" 10* release cleats. The rose ones. I don't think they have that same "flip chip" kinda think like the regular cleats do. Not too worried about getting out, but I know I am gonna have a tip or two.

Gotta get it down before hitting Gooseberry in 2 weekends.

DH bike with 6” of travel. It’s faster than I am. The low bb will take some getting used to but I’m liking it(first ride). Was considering the aluminum version of the Pivot Mach 6. How do you like it?

aluminum is what I ended up getting, carbon is out of my price range. I like it a lot, very capable up and down bike. first 1x bike for me(27.5also) which I'm quickly getting used to. I would have gotten the evo if I could ride DH more, but I pedal a fair amount with the ladyfriend.

So I am looking to sell a month or two old Sram NX Eagle Derailleur/Shifter/Chain basically almost everything youd need for a 1x12 conversion with using your existing shimano hub body minus a front chain ring...

Would $200 be a good asking price for this? It has light use, but in great shape. Havent taken it off the bike yet.

Includes cranks with no chainring? If so it sounds like a good deal assuming everything is good to go. REI says $375 including full cranks. Some places have it for $275 without crank/chainring.

Oh no cranks. I still need those for the time being lol. Its just the rear mech, casette, cable, and shifter.

Its going to look funny, im going to have XX1 drivetrain, NX cranks, and Guide T brakes lol

When I entered it into this groupset maker it came out to $275

    https://www.fanatikbike.com/products/sram-nx-gx-x01-xx1-eagle-1x12-groupset-configurator

I just meant that someone could install a narrow-wide front chain ring from wolftooth or something and use my parts and have 1x12
