OMG, I just had a thought.

What if Arya, who is on her way to Kings Landing right now, gets hold of Missandei's face (since it's now available) and uses it to fuck with Daenerys, eventually being the one to get all stabby-stabby with Dany? We've already established that the Stark ladies don't like Dany, we know what Arya does to people she doesn't like, and this fits with how no one thinks Arya is surviving the series.

Everything's being set up for it to be Jamie Actual. He hit and quit Brienne, knowing that ultimately he's the only person that can get close enough to Cersei to do the deed unexpectedly. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Arya goes through a handful of "faces" before getting close to Cersei. Cersei's hand, the former maester, makes a good candidate size and trust wise. It all depends on what the showrunners have time to shove in there, and what GRRM was ultimately planning.

God, I wish GRRM would simply release the last two books and we would KNOW.

 

Top five anime betrayals

 

So many different was this can go...it’s driving me crazy. I think that Arya, turning down Gendry’s proposal, probably set herself up to go out in a blaze of glory. I think Jon may sacrifice himself for Dany, I think the Hound may sacrifice himself for Arya, I think Sanza winds up all alone because everyone she cares about is dead and Bran goes off to live in a tree. I think we’ll see one person from each house survive.

The most heartbreaking scene in the whole series...

 

Bugga, missed last season and now watching this one has so many questions that I’ve found that I’ve lost the a part of the plot and my recollection of the books is useless. So back to season one I go, just finished S01E08, gonna be a minute before I’m caught up.

 

After season 8 I think I'm going to do a full re-watch this summer

 

Just curious but why the hell would you try and watch this if you haven't seen the last season? They're all connected to each other, it's not like True Detective or Dexter where it's either not connected or only slightly....

Thought I had read that GRRM has nothing to do with the show's writing anymore since before season 7, or am I wrong? I can't find a source for it now but I know I read something about it earlier.

 

I think it's more that he just hasn't finished the last books yet and the show wasn't going to wait for him to finish. He has told the show runners how he was going to end the books, but just hasn't written it all yet.

 

There was an interview done after the Hodor origin story saying that he provided key plot details and then let the showrunners work within that. Who kills whom, who lives or dies, that sort of thing.

 

Gotcha, so he probably just gave them an idea as to what he had in mind for certain characters and plots, but probably doesn't have a hand in the actual writing of the script

 

Sadly I do dialysis three times a week so I’m able to catch up with episodes quite fast via HBOgo.

I’ve already read the books so I know the story the original author wrote, but with the new story the screenwriters have woven I’m just needing a little catch up to suss out their wrinkles.

 

Also a lot of the characters are dead/alive in the books, but alive/dead in the show, so will be different if he finishes the books.
