    Those are the ones with the solid front axle right? My neighbors mom has one as a DD and a Porsche Cayenne as her weekend car. Wish I could convince her to sell her most reliable car to me.

    Indeed. Solid axles and I have lockers to go with them. They will go more places than I want to go. I’m more about going down the mountain trail than abusing one climbing over rocks. Fantastic snow vehicles.

    My only issue with the Dana 60 from ECGS is its stock length. If they give the option for me to go wider I'd do it in a heartbeat

    Also gearing options. At least for me being 4wd, the lack of a higher gearing ratio to match the Toyota front is what turned me off. That said, I have heard promising things about swapping a 2nd gen tundra axle in that keeps the factory wheel speed sensors, is wider, and has nitro releasing 5.29 gearing soon. That will likely be my go to when finally swapping axles down the line. I’m the meantime I’ll have to keep from snapping driveline components for a year or so when I jump to 37’s this fall

    I've actually been highly considering 4.10s and 33s once my 35s wear out. Really dislike how much power I lost on 35s. Miss being able to downshift on fullsizes and leave them in my dust hahah.

    I'm gonna call up the diff place tomorrow and see what they say. If they tell me to kick rocks, I'll probably order a diff from ECGS where I'll at least have some support/warranty if shit keeps happening. Should have just gone with them from the start. Something tells me its not the diff itself that's fucked up, 2 different shops and 4 diffs at this point. Wondering if maybe my axle is tweaked and thats causing extra strain on the gears? But then I wouldn't be able to seat the axles. Installing the diff is ezpz and the axles usually slide right in. I dunno man. Just eyeballing it the rear diff place said my pinion angle looked fine at ride height.

    I'm seriously at a loss these days for wtf is going on. I know 2 of the diffs were partially my fault, I was super rough on them and I do ALOT of rooster tails when I hit the sand, and one of those 2 I completely take fault for, I procrastinated the install til the day before a trip to pismo, it got no break in and then a bunch of rough times in the sand. Had a spare sitting in the back seat the whole time anyways, so I wasn't stressing it. But the last 2 either saw 1 offroad trip or none and got a proper break in and have been sounding like the first one from day one (which grenaded when I let the sound get worse and worse).

    Part of me wonders if these guys are actually swapping the bearings and everything out since they say every time "bearings looked fine" even though I insist they swap them.

    The last diff the guy said he couldn't find anything wrong with, but it was starting to sound like it was about to grenade as well. I've done both crush sleeve and solid spacer and have had the same issue each time.

    Sorry, venting here, this shit is aggravating and I'm a couple grand deep now on diff assembly and gears.

    FWIW, XRunner Underground appears to be back up and running. I thought it was dead.

    Also, what do we know about cams? I've heard they are unobtanium, but @Torspd has cams from Kelford I think. I just want to explore this avenue. We have @JustDSM getting the cam gears, but a little lift would help. VVTI is an issue, too.

    There were two names in the game, Kelford and Webber. I don't think either of them really support the 1gr much any more on a regular basis. They are basically reground factory cams if my memory serves me correctly. I'm not sure that you're after maximum lift as much as a reprofile that changes the lobe profile for more opening value per degree of rotation and increased duration. Cams profiles need to be very carefully considered or you might end up touching off on your shiny new pistons when VVTi kicks in (which changes the valve to piston position ever so slightly).

    Well, I just got off the phone with the rear end shop that a couple TW local members have used, the guys that rebuilt my most recent diff, and he's saying "Yeah somethings wrong, I need your truck" So I'm dropping it off next monday. We'll see what happens. Trying to stay hopeful. Even dude over the phone, I said "Yeah blah blah blah diff you just built sounds like its gonna grenade right after install" and hes like "WOW.....WOW...Really??...bring it by, I need to see, something is definitely wrong".

    Super tempting. BUT Once its all said and done, its right up there all the rest of the built rear ends. I mean for the full package ECGS looks like at least $4k. Can get a built Ford 9" from Ruffstuff for $2.6k or bump up the price with some armoring on it haha.

    It's all good. If this shop quotes me a good price on a fix, I might just have him swap out front and rear gears with 4.10s and then sell my 35s and swap in some 33s and call it a day.

    Honestly I wouldn’t waste the money on 4.10. I’d go at least 4.30 and recommend 4.56. I went 4.56 on my 33’s and it was perfect imho. Want a little more now that I’m on 35’s and plan on going 37’s.
