Anyone taken a cuise recently? Planning on going in June with the wife and looking for suggestions or feedback. I've gone on Royal Caribbean before and I really liked it. Leaning toward the Caribbean as destination for about 7 nights

    suggestions on:
    - Places to get deals (Costco?)
    - things you Didn't like about a particular line
    - destinations, packages to buy etc...

Yep, I’d still say try Costco though. Can’t get any more reliable than them if they offer any discount

Went camping up near Bear Canyon Lake. First time up in that area, and really liked it. But I think if I had the choice, I would camp near the rim. That's where we had to drive to, to get cell reception.

I also realized I really need to break down and get a spotting scope.

Just booked one to Alaska for June. 7 days Holland America. About $1000 pp. with air to Seattle. This is less than 1/2 of the Disney cruise we took a few years ago. My wife shops on line for deals all the time, you may have missed your opportunity. We always buy direct. There are deals to be had for last min bookings. They are alot like airlines, there are sales but you must jump on them quickly. My wife has been on the one from San Diego to Ensinada about 6 times for around $300/3 nights. She has been to Bahamas 10 times or so all on Disney.

cool, thanks for the info. I did notice that there are still some 'last minute deals' directly through the cruise lines

Been a while but done a couple. My folks have done all kinds including Antarctica. My take Mexico logistically out of LA or SD seems simple but it's boring. Caribbean is cool for the nicer water etc. If I had my choice I'd do something like Alaska and load up on excursions like Kenai NP you'd get to see some really cool stuff.

Speaking of excursions that's where the $ adds up especially places like Alaska. Well and bar bill but you can buy a package for that. Super easy to run up $750 each in 7 days on the bar tab. There's only so much you can do in port towns and most of it is tourist trap stuff.

My ideal itinerary is making a trip that would be an expensive logistical nightmare to plan travel wise like multiple islands or cities or places that are remote and hard to get to. Then find a cruise that consolidates all that into one easy purchase. Stuff like Greece the Caribbean and Alaska falls into that category.

Damn that is looking good. Gonna have to get my truck and the civic done soon.

Everything has just been crazy the past few weeks. I need a vacation. My grandma passed, I've just been cleaning house and keeping myself busy after the service. Banks and estate shit is annoying, one bank wants me to come back out there to sign paperwork. Try to take it easy with some buddies online and do some gaming together, computer starts shitting the bed. Getting audited at work. Stress is through the roof and I realize I'm passively clenching the shit out of my jaw which needs to stop fast.

    :help:
