What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

They have no love for the 3rd gen, little do they know most of us old school members have had all three gens of the Taco.

 

I just helped another member install his mount on Sunday. It proved to be easier that I thought with the only real hard part being tapping into the lighter's power. Gotta make sure you have the correct wired connected. I think quadruple checked before finally pinching the tap in. LOL

 

4 gens. I also had the 1986 SR5 (Pre-Tacoma) plus a 2000 plus a 2008 and then a 2016.

 

Removed that silly V6 emblem from tailgate (The asymmetry was killing me). I also found a bed extender for $20 on FB Marketplace.

 

Installed the toolbox from my 1992 toyota pickup. Got this box in 2003, it was on the truck till 2005, and sat in storage in my basement till today, Fits pretty well considering 26 years separate the 2 trucks that have used it.

I find it odd because other than a face lift and some small changes; the 2nd and 3rd gen's are basically the same truck.

I'm wishing that Toyota brings back (re-invents) the Mini Truck! Pre 1985ish. Straight front axles and locking front hubs. I'm sure there is a market they are neglecting! These trucks are getting too big!

 

Rubbing? How much lift? What size wheel spacers?

 

Finally got around to installing my Redline Tuning QuickLIFT struts

 

I’m rubbing in reverse when wheel is completely turned but other than that nothing at all. I won’t pretend to know all the specs as I put the truck in the hands of a trusted friend and he did the work at his shop. I do believe it was 2.75 in the front and 2 in the back.

 

It did require wheel spacers though?

 

Hows it sound now?

Installed Toyota all weather floor mats negotiated into my purchase. Dealer was out of stock on the purchase date, so they had to be ordered.

 

My wife loves her ‘18 Camry XSE. Did you get the four or six cylinder?

 

Do the locals call your dog a Sheppard bc they are already in Germany? Or is it still a German Sheppard? =)
