Curious if anyone else has had this issue.

I started to use bluetooth to play music from my phone instead of using a USB stick since I put an Alexa Auto in my Taco. It seemed to be doing fine, but lately when playing a song it will just stop playing. If I press the forward/back track it will play audio again. There are times where it stops after a minute or two or like this morning it seemed to be stopping on every dang song in less than 30 seconds. It's driving me nuts. Restarting my phone doesn't seem to make a difference.

Are you streaming music from the air or the internal storage?

Have you tried it without the Alexa?

Yes, same issue. Though the Alexa is why I switched to bluetooth instead of a USB stick as I need the bluetooth to transmit the response from the Alexa to the speakers.

Unusual indeed. I say without the Alexa because even some of the stuff I have at home with that software, it's far from perfect. But I digress. I stream Spotify straight from my phone to the truck and even when I have no cellular service, the music plays without flaw.

Sorry I can't help with this one. :(

I think I figured this out. The culprit was apparently Google Play Music.

That is what I use to play my songs, so I switched to Amazon Music (I don't like it because it's horrible about auto starting when I start the truck) - no issues on Amazon Music. So I checked and there was an app update for the Google Play Music. After updating it, no problems so far. I don't know why it just decided to get buggy out of nowhere though =/

They updated the back end, which caused issues on the app, so they updated the app. Happens all the time.

I don't see how any of that would have relevance to a bluetooth connection streaming locally stored music. I could see it if it was doing anything online to their music store or whatever.

It's a Google app. Do you really think all it does is play your music without telling the mother ship what you're playing? They don't care if they get their analytics from your streaming or your local storage. It's still something they collect.

That shouldn't affect bluetooth streaming, and if it does, they are crappy programmers.
