Can you make a custom short cable to clamp to your bed stiffeners and ‘grab’ the cable thus shortening it? It would keep you from putting additional holes in the bed.

Possibly, but I don't mind drilling a couple holes.

    I had to pick up a 48 x 96" sheet of high density polymer on a 4 x 8 pallet jack. I'll post a pic shortly.

Better if I wasn’t sitting at Home Depot trying to figure out how the fuck to fit a piece of plywood in my truck

I tried that but it still won’t quite fit. Any other tips? I been here for like 5 hours and I’m starting to get frustrated

I just strap the plywood to the underbelly of my truck like a giant skid plate.

Just put it sideways on the bedrails and strap it down. When you drive past people walking on the sidewalk just tell em to duck!

You could make fun plane noises when you're driving around pretending to take flight... I'll admit that only came to mind as I had to make the same noises to make my daughter eat her breakfast this morning...

For fuck's sake people... everyone who gets sheetrock or plywood or a crate full of motorcycle lift from Harbor Freight rests it's on the tailgate then puts a shoulder under it, stands up to lift the load enough to open the tailgate to unload it. And it's fucking heavy but literally everyone does it that way since the pick-up was invented and if explaining the physics in excruciating detail isn't enough to convince you... go to Lowe's at 6am, follow some dudes to the job site and watch.

Thanks! I will give it a try and hopefully be able to head home. I had to sleep in the damn Home Depot Parking lot last night because I couldn’t get it to fit

Bigger question is, how far can you walk into the forest?
