I feel like I remember reading that he took the DIY kits out of the drop down in order to create their own listing, but I might be lying... I can't remember for sure.

    Edit: I knew I wasn't crazy:

Hey @MESO - got my stage 2 knob installed today. 2 issues. #1 when i was pushing the connectors thru the boot and latching it. The wires pulled out of the plug (harness side) how do i repair? Just one of them...
#2 - the switches are very sharp. The front and back edges really dig into my hand. Can i file the edges off or are they painted? I know when the wife or dad drive the truck they will hate this.

Love the knob just need to take care of these issues.

I thought the sharp edges was due to me sanding and painting the switches myself. They are painted so if you file the edges, it will be black raw plastic underneath.

Which end, Shifter or extension harness? I have had about 3 people this has happnened to. 2 pulled the wire out of the shifter connector, the other on the extension harness. Not sure if it was just a weak connector crimp on the pin, or it gets caught while trying to fish it through the console. Either way I can get it replaced for you.
The connectors aren’t super heavy duty(mainly due to their small size) but they fit the bill for this mod In order to pass through the shifter boot ring and tuck up into the stealth switch(small gauge wire)
I suggest (and will be doing this from now on) to throw a piece of heat shrink over the connection before snapping the shift boot back on. Obviously once it’s installed and tested. This will help alleviate any stress on the connector when shifting and prevent any unwanted disconnect in the future.
As for the sharp edge, I take all constructive criticism:) another member mentioned this to me, and I have tweaked the file to make it slightly more rounded. It never bothered me because its on the top and I never really touched that area when shifting. But with a stage 2, I can see where you would make contact with that area more frequently with the palm of your hand.
If you wanted to fine tune it yourself, a razor knife or lightly hitting the edge with a file or sand paper would remedy it. The plastic is black underneath, so depending on what color your knob is.. might require a touch up. Hope this helped, and PM me with your order # and exactly what side.

Thanks - will PM you - it's the secondary switch wire, the ECT wire works perfectly (used it this morning on the drive in to work... I LOVE it... i can use ECT for getting up to speed, then click it off when i want to cruise, and vice versa - best of both worlds). I think it would be very tight to install heat shrink, and would make it much more difficult to remove afterwards if you needed to pull the console out. What would have been easier (for me, and would have rectified this problem) would be to have the wires from the knob be 4-8" longer, so you could feed them thru the hole, push up on the boot to connect it to the shift knob, then make the connection under the console. The issue right now is the connector is getting lodged in the hole while trying to pull the harness from down below (to get it to pull thru) and it's getting "bunged up" if the knob side wires were longer, the connectors would drop right thru and that issue would be gone. Thoughts?

Mine is all black so i'll smooth it out tonight. Maybe i'll steal the wife's nail file  (going to put some electrical tape on first so I don't mangle the leather).

finally found the time to install my Stage 2 shift knob. I wired in the garage door opener to the right side switch - works great. Both switches work great:thumbsup:. I removed the ECT switch from the dash and installed the blank switch. I will use that blank switch space sometime in the future for probably the any time camera mod. Anyway for those of you that need a blank switch cover, I have the part number on the photo below.

    Blank.jpg Blank Switch Installed.jpg

I tried to move the BSM switch over into the ECT switch hole but the cutouts are slightly different. I discovered that each switch has small "tabs" on the side which makes swapping position of the switches a "no-go" without small modification of the dash cutout. So, I put the dash back together until I have some good lighting and time to modify the cutouts and install the switches where I feel they should go.

Not a problem...it did take a bit of time to track down the part number; the online parts diagrams that I found were worthless for me. But my local parts guy is pretty good with his computer and found the dummy switch located on an obscure parts page. Anyway wanted to save everyone the hassle of finding the correct number for this smaller switch.

Have any of you guys had any luck finding a custom momentary switch that fits the ECT power slot? I want to be able to put my own words or image on a switch for that slot and I can only find normal on/off switches.

Anyone have a write up or video for installing the know and hooking up the wires?

Also has anyone hooked up the other side of the stage 2 kit to some lights? Ditch lights, light bar?

Appreciate the help but they don't have momentary switches. They click on and click off. At least I'm not finding them there, it was where I originally looked.
