2wd to 4wd conversion

Ok so my taco is a 2wd my cousin has a 4wd taco that he hit a horse with yes a horse ive heard the trucks in pretty bad shape but this is coming form a guy who wants my cousin to sign the title over to him and avoid towing fees. So my question is what all would i need off of his 4wd taco to make mine 4wd ?? Because if its still in decent enough condition to get the 4wd drive out ill pay for the towing fees and get me some 4wd maybe

Umm not a good idea. It'll never work like you want it to. Best bet is pay to get it towed, part it out on CL and Ebay. Then save your cash, sell your pre runner and get a true 4x4.

If the frame is good on the 4X4 can't you simply bolt the bed and cab from the 4X2 on to it? Provided the cab and bed length is the same of course.

 

My buddy Dang is doing a 4x conversion on his 1st gen and he made a FAQ and parts list thread on TTORA. I forgot the thread title but his username his SAFETYDANG, search for it. He constantly updates it and it's got some really good info.
