Ok gents! We have a problem!

So today I did a brake fluid flush and vacuumed in new Redline synthetic, well while I had the truck on four jack stands I decided to rotate the tires and hit the zerks.

Then I said to myself, “try out that 255 on your spare rim that’s sitting in the shed!”

Holy Crap it looks so good!!,

So I’m now checking prices as I am pretty sure once I have a complete set of spare steelies 8m going pizza cutters!

I’ll admit though the 2018 OR susp under my truck helps as my front is almost 1.5” taller than it was stock. I also have an OR sway bar under there.

    What you guys think?

Rear tire is a 265/75/R16 Hankook on a 1sr Gen Trundra rim.
Front tire is my original spare rim with a 255/85/R16 Cooper ST, 8-ply.

Thanks guys, I think it looks awesome!

    I like em both though.

I’ll be keeping the Tundra rims and putting 255s on steel spares.

The lug nuts were just the ones from the Tundra wheels. Toyota aluminum wheels have the cone provision to run your spare.

    I have a set of 16x7 steel rims that I was told are from a 97 4runner.

I did a quick search of the number stamped on the outside and didn't see anything conclusive- these should fit my 2016, correct?

    Attached photos for reference

    Any insight is appreciated.

think you're gtg. check out @Greenbean post #420 & #426. 1st gen steels have ~4 5/8 backspace. put a straight edge on back of rim, measure down to lug hole. i physical put mine on truck (1st gen), double checked brake & UCA, all good! ordered tires yesterday.

yes. my gen 1 (6 lug) offset is positive ET15 (15mm). back of rim to where rim mounts on hub has a back spacing of ~4 5/8. think (?) gen 2 is ET30 (30mm).

There is a thread with a user who installed 3rd gen 4Runner steelies and they don’t quite clear the front calipers and he needed a spacer on the fronts.

Did you look at car-part.com? That's where I got mine. 3 were local, and I had 2 shipped from out of state. I wanted real OEM<, not knockoffs. No clue what quality the knockoffs are, but didn't want to take the chance. If you do go with car-part, make sure to verify what shape the wheels are in, I got a couple that had more rust than I was expecting, still trying to sort that out.
