Tonight's pickup soccer game "stats".

 

Do you play fullback (sweep) or goalie or something? How do you play soccer for an hour and only get 2 minutes of Cardio? When I played I was usually left midfielder and it seemed like I spent the entire game running in one direction or the other, depending on who had the ball

 

Goalie... and it's only pickup, so I try to take it nice and easy since I play in a co-ed league on Thursday nights.

Usually my co-ed league game "stats" are a bit "crazier" depending on how good, or bad, my team plays.

 

Yeah, a Goalie with 30 minutes of Cardio in a 1 hour game has a really shitty defense

This was the first game of the current session... We lost a really good player and picked up a kid who looked like he had never played in his life. He was the son of the boss of one of our players... Needless to say the kid isn't on the team anymore.

The team we played this game was the team we beat in the final of the previous session, and they LOADED UP for this session. Surprisingly we only lost 5-3. Made saves in that game that I don't even know how I was able to make.

 

Yeah, probably something like that.

 

Tough game, but we managed to get the W! 5-3

 

Are any of you entrepreneurs in your 30’s or actively trying to move up in your company? Or are you fairly settled and content?

Just curious what others mindset is. I’m 33 and moved up quickly in my company and make enough to support my family so that my wife doesn’t have to work.

I’ve considered going out on my own but that is a scary move with a 4 month old at home.

 

I recently took a new job when I realized that I hit my ceiling at my previous job.

With children time may be something to consider. If you're not working much more than 40 hours a week and there are still opportunities where you are, it may be worth sticking around.

 

If you're not content, I'd recommend finding something similar with more opportunities.

As far as entraprenuering it, I've got all the confidence in the world in myself but wouldn't want to assume the risk of starting my own business.

Completely forgot about this thread... been busy with the kids, and work.

Fave beer: local craft beer from a place called Nod Hill, beer by the name of Super Mantis. DELICIOUS!

Summer plans... TBD. Guess it depends on what the Mrs feels like doing on her summer vacation from school (she's a teacher).

How about you?

 

I was just browsing this thread earlier and thought we are a bunch of quiet/lazy/busy/antisocial or all of the above individuals. Weekday beer is Michelob Ultra (trying to lose so lbs) and weekend beers are staying steady with either the old faithful Blue Moon, or when I'm feeling fancy AF I'll grab me some Left Hand Milk Stout or some local milk stouts.

Referring back to my bitch beer and losing lbs, I have joined 2 ultimate frisbee leagues so those on top of a few golf trips have my summer stacked. I guess hanging out with the wife and almost 1yr old daughter fall in there somewhere.

 

No beer here, or alcohol for that matter ever since (not that they're related really) the whole fitness/health thing I started in January.

Adventures though, hopefully a vacation to Blue Ridge parkway this year, now that I have a reliable truck to drive. Fingers crossed at least.

 

I find I have zero time to do any sort of fitness plan with two kids under 4. I'm hoping that'll change once the youngest one finds a bit more independence.

For beer, since I joined the company I'm with now, I've been getting deeper into the local craft scene. Toolshed has to be my favorite local brewery though there is this one IPA, Frequency Hopper, from a local micro that's pretty amazing.
