I will be looking for 2 to 4 people to test a new bed rack system soon. There will be requirements that will have to be met in order to be one of the ones chosen to test. One of the requirements is that you must live with in a 4 hour radius, (drive time) from San Luis Obispo, CA. in order to be considered, as there will be some inspections of the product. You WILL be required to pick up the rack and drive here for inspections periodically. You WILL be required to provide monthly feedback of the rack and pictures of the rack and/or parts of the rack. A Retrax, GatorTrax, or similar roll up style bed cover is desired but is NOT required. You MUST have a bed rail system in place. You may be testing prototypes of a design.

The rack system is being designed to accommodate a roof top tent and/or other items along side it. Having and USING a RTT is HIGHLY desirable.

So I'm sure you want to know, what do I get out of it? At the end of the test period you will either get to keep the system you have or you will get a brand new one once it comes out of production and is ready for market. That determination will be made by us at the end of the test period.

Once we get in to the test period, hopefully before June 2019, I will contact you with more info. If selected you WILL be required to sign a contract.

Please send me your email along with your contact info if you are interested in this opportunity. Along with it what type of Tacoma you have.

If you are interested send your emails to km6znc@gmail.com. If you have any questions you can post them here and I will get to them as soon as I can.

    Thanks.

Any idea of how often you will need to do inspections? And what does this system look like as a prototype? I’ve been looking for a bed rack but want to be able to mount outboard bike racks to it

So the details are not in stone at the moment but it will be once a quarter for 1 year and possibly every other month. Pictures will be done on one of the prototypes in a couple of weeks. The current ones just went out to powder coat today. Once they come back and the bar options are decided we will mount and then take some pics of the rack and then they will be available, ....... not sure if I will post them here or send upon request. They will NOT be available to the public till the final version is complete and the website is released.

I'm interested if it connects to the base of the bed like the LD rank, and not just the sides.
Just picked up my 2019 DCLB today. Super stoked to get some mods in.

And if this bed rack system damages the vehicle during testing what happens then?

Is the top of the rack above the roof line? I often care lumber and other long stock and need it to clear the cab.

It is not. About 8 inches from the top of the bed. There will be future versions that may have that option.

It shouldn't damage the vehicle unless you do something to try and modify it. But if you are worried about that then this test is not for you.

    Thanks.

Im located in South Orange County. About at the limit of what you mentioned in terms of distance. However.... I do work in Santa Clarita often and could easily make the drive. Let me know. I met all requirements.

I'm in Atascadero. Pretty interested, but no RTT for me yet and I'd have to remove my Bakflip cover.

Just sent you a message. Currently no RTT, but been looking to get one. I have rails and the Toyota tonneau cover that can be removed as needed.

Covers are good as long as the they don't exceed the outside edge of the bed. Send your info and I will get with you when I have more information.

Sounds good - looking forward to hearing more about this. The fiance and I have been looking to pick up a RTT and bed rack soon, so this would be amazing!
