Daenarys levels King's Landing.

 

My question is why would she have to level King's Landing and slaughter innocent lives and not just mow down the tower that Cersei is in?

 

Makes perfect sense, although not to beat a dead horse but this is kind of what I meant yesterday when talking about the writing quality this season...this level of "the game" hasn't existed on the show at all this season or even really been referenced, everything is happening at face value, 'skin deep' so to speak. But in previous seasons this kind of stuff was what made the show so effing good. Hopefully the next couple of episodes will bring it back and make the outcome more fulfilling.

It's kind of been the thing Dany has always struggled with since she's gotten real power...finding ways to destroy her enemies without hurting the innocent people of the cities they have control over. I think they were suggesting in the last episode that they only way she can get to Cersei is by going through a lot of innocent people first, but with Drogon she has options. Although we've learned now that the dragons are anything but invincible, although Drogon seems to have luck or maybe fate on his side

FTFY, too expensive to have 3 dragons and dire wolves on the show of this scale for this season. Which is why IMO the other 2 dragons have died fairly quickly this season. Plus that's why Jon sent Ghost away, too expensive to keep adding him in

Daeny uparmors her dragon with some bitchin TRD bash plates, uses it like an Antinov heavy-lifter to pick up the tower, queen still inside, and proceeds to drop the entire damn castle on the iron fleet. That's why Euron is staring in disbelief, a damn flying tower is about to be dropped on his ass.

 

Exactly, which is where she is heading.

I mean, Daenarys is playing a different ball game now against Cersei. She has been generally able to conquer without much innocent bloodshed or collateral damage. But now in order to defeat Cersei, she has to do what she previously said she never wanted to. Is it worth it to her? I guess we'll see in the next episode. Is there another way? Probably yes, maybe send in a covert group of Unsullied through the tunnel networks or something. People have said she could use Arya's many faces, but no one knows she is capable of that, so that's not really an option for her. but even if she covertly kills Cersei, she still has to deal with her inner circle.

If she makes the "sacrifice" of battling in the city and killing innocents in the process, and then reigns as what she always wanted to be (the opposite of a tyrant) then that sacrifice is possibly worth it. But maybe she'll irreversibly become a tyrant in the process, making her ultimately no better than Cersei. I guess we'll find out.

In the end, I think, if she has to battle in the city, and innocent people die, but then she somehow goes back to her original intentions and rules as a fair and just Queen, then in my opinion that sacrifice is worth it for the greater, ultimate good of Westeros.
