Dear Tacoma Folks - Can anyone suggest a rust expert/company/group who would be able to determine that the rust on my Tacoma truck which I just found on October 2, 2018 was more than likely there on the frame in April 2018? I have attached some pics showing the current state of rust. Any help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you. Many thanks

Absolutely!... the scary part is, I've trusted/taken my vehicle to this Toyota dealership for over 5 years, no outside places, only Toyota folks have worked on my car. I've had this vehicle since 2002, love this car and so sad they let this happen and not notice and tell me. Thank God I heard the creaking noise when I got home one night and decided to look underneath. This could have caused some serious highway accident. I hate to say it, but I am a female who doesn't have a lot of free time and never really get under the car (no reason to, right - since I trusted Toyota for all my service).
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

The only thing needed to prove that is a couple eyeballs and common sense. Unless a gnome sat under they and continually hosed it down with a coca-cola and salt mixture 24/7, maybe.

Right ~ one would think but apparently the Toyota where the truck has been serviced feels differently.

I get what you're saying, but you can inspect your own vehicle at least once a year too pretty easy.

try another dealership. If that fails try and contact a 3rd party that can write a surface report. There are companies that inspect coatings and those guys have a lot of certifications and knowledge of corrosion. I’d imagine they could refute the claim made by the dealership. Hopefully they would determine that level of rust couldn’t possibly happen in a year and would have years of school and certifications to back it up. Unlike the Toyota the dealership who shouldn’t be making that judgement.

Thank you very much!... this certainly helps put me in a direction and I'll start my Google search. I am in Virginia. It would be greatly appreciated if you happen to know of any company that you would like to share with me? But if not, I understand. Thank you very much for taking the time to respond as I am going to need all the help I can get/find! Many thanks
