So this is an ongoing nightmare. I have been on the phone with Toyota for 30 minutes now, and the guy is trying to tell me that a TSB has never been issued for the leaf springs on my 2010 TRD Sport DC. Does anyone have the TSB number?

I had the TSB done on my 2010. I don't know why they have to make it such a pain in the ass. I had to read the TSB over the phone to the service writer and point her to the right page and paragraph. She had the damn TSB in her hands and I still had to point it out to her.

    Here is the TSB that includes 2010 model year;

    T-SB-0305-08.pdf

Print that out & bring it to the Dealer. There should be no questions after that, as it clearly states 2010 are included..

    hope this helps you out...

    It all worked out guys.

Taking it in tomorrow morning, thanks dudes.

After he told me he was %100 sure that no TSB exists for leaf springs, I called him a liar and gave him the number. It alll ended in my favor! :D

This may be a really stupid question, but the TSB is free correct?

    Hey Hawk,

I noticed you live in Raleigh...what dealership are you dealing with?
I live up in Wake Forest and i've had a similar deal with the guys in Henderson.

Just curious if it's Fred Anderson? I still may do better going
to Henderson...it's where i bought the truck.

    Thanks, and good luck.

Any TSB for the 5 lug yet. I can't carry anywhere near full payload capacity.

Yeah, I am dealing with Fred Anderson. I mainly communicated the problem through Toyotas Customer service line. The guys at Fred Anderson seemed really helpful and willing to do this for me, but we will see how it all plays out when I take it there at 7:55 AM.

I just bought a 2010 D/C Sport 4x4. It has 500 miles on it, can i print this out and just bring it in to get it fixed? I don't have to wait for any issues? Or do I have to call Toyota first and fight with them.

No, I honestly just BS'ed them and told them that I have been bottoming out with a loaded bed, and I had no hassle at all. They were pretty cool about it and I didnt even need to explain to them what I was talking about. They knew what the problem was.

    But I got a question.

I know the new leaf on the rear is going to lift it a little bit more and give me some added rake. But I have a set of front 5100's on the way. What would be the best setting for my front 5100's with a stock TRD suspension with the TSB done?

Prevailing TW wisdom is set the 5100's at 1.75 for a level truck.

Although I have seen some owners post here that they set at .85 for a slight rake.

I'm thinking each truck is a little different based on driving style...usual load or no load...and of course the wheels & tires you are running.

The bitch is...removing the 5100's and the alignment necessary to make the changes.

I plan on going with the TSB and leaving the stock front shocks for now...see how that works & looks...then move on from there.

Thanks Larry my man. I think it looks great to have a level truck so I will most likely just go for 1.75.

I called my local dealer yesterday(not the dealer I bought the truck from), told them I was bottoming out when I had my quad loaded. Then I let them know that I had done some reasearch and had a TSB in hand and I wanted it fixed. He told me he would order the parts and call and schedule the repair. Pretty painless really.

On a side note if any of you in the NW are looking to buy a new taco, go to Appleway Toyota-Spokane Valley. I haggled with my local dealers for a week and they still couldn't match Appleway's price, drove 500 mi saved $2k

FYI - Here's mine w/5100's set at 1.75 with the rear spring TSB. This pic was taken about 6-7 months ago and the rear hasn't settled much in that time so, it's stayed pretty level.
