Read this whole thread and the f5 17x9 thread. Thats how youll get informed. Its been explained a million of times from different tire sizes and lift combos. This wheel size is not for you if you dont want to trim at all especially if you’re offroading

Any rubbing at all? I'm considering the higher offset but not very many 2nd Gen owners seem to be buying these. I think I'd be trying to stick with 265/70 at stock height for now. Eventually 2.5" on 5100's as well. Maybe some other 2nd owners could chime in.

Edit: answered my own question after 40 minutes of thread scouring. Vin says most tire manufacturers won't recommend 265 on a 9" wide rim. I'm guessing 285 is completely out of the question on a stock truck.

3rd gen owner here. I was on stock on 265/70/17 and I would even rub on right turns. I did 2.25 in front and 1.5 in back and fine now. Now going have 33's and rubbing with the slightest turns. YOU CAN'T FIT 285's on stock or even lifted without trimming and alignment.

Question for those running 17x9 with 285s. I got a CMC and pinch weld done. Still rubbing in the front a bit on full turn. Tried hairdrying for heat and pushing in the plastic. Not moving much. Any tips?

If you can add more castor that should help. Even when I had the 17x8.5 I needed close to 3 degrees castor for no rub and some slight fender trimming inside

Do do it. If your running TC or similar design setting toe and camber first then castor he should have no problem. Not everyone knows how to do it. I had one guy barely get 2.5 castor my go to so far has it out to 4.5 but next I’ll go to 5 or 6

Yea I’ve gotten +4 caster with my SPCs and looking at how it sits now I know it’s not at that. Either way I did have to trim higher on my wheel well anyway from some compression rub. But with these new wheels and the correct castor I shouldn’t be rubbing on my cmc.

I went to America’s tire and they were not able to mount the tire and damaged my wheels. They said something about not being able to get over the lip....was so excited to get everything on too, pretty wack. He even called them method knock offs lol8B9AB53F-3ED0-4B81-9625-E1A3B6001789.jpgEA10495E-310F-459C-A1AC-D352D49CA022.jpg
