    Moved it here. @Sacrifice

    When is the last time you changed your transmission fluid? I run redline oils D4 ATF.

    If that doesn't help, then you may have some transmission issues.

    Could be something with the throwout bearing. Do you have the spacer on the bearing itself, or between where it mounts to the transmission?

    Regardless, you will definitely be updated. Intake cam swap is fairly painless.

    :notsure: used car. Been debating changing fluid. The other day when it was warm it seemed to shift better. So that will be on my to do list. That redline works well?

    Im betting its still the stock clutch. The shifting problem even with the engine off is what gets me.

    Thats the problem with the lack of variable timing; you have to decide how to phase your cams for either low end or high end power. From what I can tell, your top end is designed for high flow, high RPM's which will reduce scaveging on the low end and therefore reduce low end power. And your bottom is stroked which should give low end power but you'll be hard pressed to get the RPM's needed to really take advantage of the high flow top end. You also dropped compression right? That will make turbo lag more laggy. I suggest a twin turbo with two small quick spooling turbos but in sequential to get that quick spool and max boost. Just sayin.

    The 5VZ has a similar problem but reverse. With an oversqare design, the bottom end is designed for high RPM's at the expense of torque. However, Toyota tuned the top end exclusively for low end torque hence the red line at 5400 rpms.

    Our engines are not in equilibrium. They are fighting themselves.

    Good inputs.

    My big bore Goldylocks block has 9.0:1 compression, but OEM cams. Noticeably more low end torque than a factory engine. Just with a larger bore alone, while having the same intake and exhaust components between it and the factory block.

    With that being about .13 liters larger than OEM, and the stroker being .3xx larger, then it is all in the VVT-I or lack there of.

    Both engine have plenty of power all the way to 6200 and 6500.

    Goldylocks spooled the journal bearing Precision more quickly than the stroker currently does. Sadly. Fun when it kicks in though. :D Will be even more fun soon enough.

    You would think the stroker would spool faster with the extra gasses produced. Same headers / exhaust? It could be that it doesnt rev fast enough. But I'm also of a similar thought on the VVT-i. I know why some people choose to remove it but I don't agree with it. I wish the 5VZ had variable timing.

    Well I binge-read 393 pages. So I got that going for me. To be honest I thought I would find out what I wanted for my truck...but now I know that no one knows what they want.
    Turbo or supercharger? I don't know anymore. Maybe after all the other mods I can find a turbo diesel swap and be done... since apparently finding mods for the 2tr is like catching a leprechaun riding a unicorn who craps ice cream.
    That being said I do applaud you for earning the patience of a saint and enticing me to read all those damn pages in a day. However, the whiplash I got from you turning around and testing my patience - only to let me down with no forged boost behemoth was probably the best moral of the story for modding you could have crafted
    I guess we're all just watching packages that are a day late and a dollar short of that next mod.

    It isn't done yet my friend. This isn't not a movie that rides off gently into the sunset. Leaving you wishing something greater had happened at the end. Just another pause.

    @loginfailed is correct. If is a crazy behemoth. I am just not satisfied with the current performance of the engine. Strictly due to the lack of low end grunt caused by the locked intake cams.
    Those will be starting the process of change, after this weekend. Got to prep for a track day, and it is going to be a VERY busy wrenching weekend. Once the OEM intake cams are in, then I can figure out what to do the the Kelford intake cams. About regrinding them to reduce the aggressive lift to be able to use the VVT-I actuators with them.

    Then is the transmission. The plan is to swap in a built Magnum. Things have settled. Now it is just time.
