Let's see your retrofit headlights!

At first I thought you posted a picture of my truck. Lol

 

First set -





4.0 Mini D2S.
Apollo 3 shrouds backlit amber.
Housing painted to match the wheels.

 

Second set -







Same guts as the others but stock ‘11 TRD “smoked” housings.


I plan on pullin them apart again to tint the front marker lens amber and add halos to the front of the shrouds

I really like the Apollo shrouds, personally.

 

Agreed. They aren’t too flashy but stand out just enough

 

The first picture is the day I bought it. Inside came with leather interior with the XSP-X stamped in the seats and floor panels that lit up. Also had the carbon fiber look in the plastics.

 

Not my truck so no details I can provide, figured I'd add them here for reference anyway

 

Of everything I have done to my truck, the retrofit was my favorite project. In my eyes, it really sets the 2nd gens apart from the crowd with retro lights and changes the whole aesthetic. I've am approaching 4 years on my retrofit. Building them was a learning process but an easy and rewarding project. The TRS kits are top notch. I bought a second set of stockers and kept my stock lights for if I ever do decide to sell the truck which at this point I pretty much decided is never happening. Let's see more pix.

 

Those came out pretty bad ass!

 

Mini h1s, gatling gun shroud, 5500k bulbs. Rgb halos etc etc. Built them myself and it was pretty fun. Going to built another set soon to sell

Thanks, they were supposed to have more white, but the paint reacted. Kinda glad I went all black with a splash of white instead. The white shroud helps to hide to halos too

 

Sorry to bring back a dead thread, but does anybody have a good write up on doing a retrofit?
