Alabama thread!

I spend more time keeping the underbody clean than i do the body lol

 

Yall every wonder why Alabama doesn't have it's own primary thread like some other states? Why are we tied into a combination of NC, SC, WV, and VA?

 

Does anybody in here have a coilspring compressor with skinny spring seats?

 

I had never thought about that, but I think we warrant our own thread.

I'm right here. Bored out of my mind.

I have been playing around with a new design for some bed bars though. Trying something new. Any suggestions on this? This is the side support that will rest on the bed side.

 

@Jerneyman how hard would it be to make some of these but longer? I would like them to be 14” instead of 10”. Asked kB about buying just the supports since it’s “max modular” but he didn’t want to play ball.

 

Wouldn't be too hard. But if you keep the top the same width, that angle will have to change a bit. Also, the slots and square holes would end up being a bit different as I'm only a equipped with a plasma cutter that's as steady as my hand. These type of parts are better to be CNC cut due to all the specific dimensions.

I'd have to do a 3D model and figure out the new dimensions and really Id need the old support to in order to get the hole spacing for everything else that bolts to it.

Wires are ran down the passenger side of the vehicle. Then drilled through the bed at the base of the rack. I forgot the specific wire I used but you can get it at Lowe’s and it’s 4 14awg (IIRC maybe 12) wires together in a thick rubber tube. Gave me a circuit for the backup/side lights, bed lights, 12v outlet, and an extra Incase I ever add a fridge.

Have a fuse panel on the drivers side fender in the engine bay. Fed by an extra battery cable. Wires that switch the relays feed into the cab from a hole I poked in a harness grommet up by the brake pedal.

 

Buddy of mine. 1986, 345k miles, 4cyl, manual. Runs and drives good.

 

Tire gate is almost there.

 

The slow tear down begins. Taking off skids / sliders to repaint and reinforce. Also need to touch up the frame while I’m at it.

 

Darn you. I was convinced square tube all around would look alright. That looks much better

Random thought while putting up dishes tonight. How has Gucci not come out with a baby brand and named it Gucci Goo?!?! Why have they not capitalized on this million dollar market plan?!
